Hashemi is probably the professor that will have the longest lasting impact on me and how I work. The class (ME 4550) is very fast pace in the first few weeks but definitely chills out the 2nd month onward. He might be strict and have some aggressive grading policies but he recognizes effort and makes sure you learn and retain the materialME4550 2025-05-30 22:32:24 +0000 UTC
Consistently makes mistake on in class example problems, only noticing them when pointed out by students. Does not teach the material well contradicting the book often. Incredibly boring lectures. Constantly upset when a student asks a "undergraduate question" in a graduate class (not understanding some students have been out of school for a while)ME5655 2024-10-22 16:07:47 +0000 UTC
harsh prof, super hard class, do not reccomendME5650 2023-12-25 10:18:28 +0000 UTC
Real good teacher, usually not hard to understand and always willing to do another example.ME4508 2020-11-16 16:16:06 +0000 UTC
Professor Hashemi knows what he is talking about but is not very good at teaching. He expects the class to know the subject already and skips teaching new topics and goes right into doing example problems. He will use his own complicated manner to solve a problem and when a student points out an easier method he cant understand it.ME2350 2017-04-13 11:28:40 +0000 UTC
Hard teacher, but he knows what hes talking about. Expects a lot of work from his students but will reward you if you show you put in a real effort.MIM550 2008-10-24 15:11:11 +0000 UTC
Hashemi is the man. Although he has an accent, he is very easy to understand. His teaching methods are clear and concise, and he makes great analogies to learn the material. He can tell when the class is losing interest and will tell jokes to keep everyone entertained. He was hilarious and a great teacher. I learned a lot in his classes!MIMU508 2006-12-07 14:33:23 +0000 UTC
Overall a good professor. Lectures are interesting and he goes on several humerous tangents about his personal life. Teaches at 100 mph, but very clear and concise. His tests are very difficult, but if you go see him he usually provides you with some valuable insight. Likes to see students who make an effort and care about the classFEA123 2006-09-06 12:24:53 +0000 UTC
He's easy enough to follow at first and understanding him then makes it easier towards the end of the semester. Kinda harsh when it comes to answering questions. Tests were tricky but he made sure we knew what to expect.FEA 2005-08-24 22:05:35 +0000 UTC
Lacks any respect for his students.ME4550 2024-09-27 20:49:19 +0000 UTC
spend every single minute of class time solving random examples without explaining the reason behind. keep emphasizing how easy the course would be if you follow his method while making a lot of mistakes when solving example problems.ME5655 2020-12-07 04:06:08 +0000 UTC
Homeworks are hours of incredibly difficult busy work. Spends the whole lecture deriving equations without any suggestion on how to use them.ME5650 2021-02-26 00:31:42 +0000 UTC
Hashemi knows the material well, however he teaches in a very oldschool fashion where he always demands "respect," forces you to use outdated homework software and punishes you heavily for simple mistakes that propagate easily in a class with a lot of small calculations. He drops behind on curriculum too. You'll learn but might not like him at all.ME4508 2019-12-04 22:41:58 +0000 UTC
He is hard to understand, and he tries to be funny, but fails to make sense. He yells at the class constantly wasting a lot of time. You cannot bring food or drinks to class. Unless you suck up to him, you will have to basically teach yourself.MIM550 2006-11-27 16:01:59 +0000 UTC
Alot of work to do, starts off easy, then gets harder. Exams are really difficult compared to class work. He likes blueberry muffins.MIMU508 2004-09-07 14:25:17 +0000 UTC
