A very fair professor who was easy to reach in office hours. The course is not easy but she really sets you up for success.ME2355 2025-12-17 01:42:18 +0000 UTC
I can confidently say Prof Matherne is the best professor at Northeastern. She cares about her students and does everything she can to help them succeed. Her office hours are very helpful and her lectures are amazing. Fluid mechanics is a difficult class but she made it very approachable and she grades very fairly. I'd recommend her to anyone!3475 2024-12-15 03:16:15 +0000 UTC
Professor Matherne has an excellent teaching style. She is very organized, explains all concepts clearly, encourages questions, is available outside of class, and grades fairly. She brings a positive energy and enthusiasm for learning to class every day, and truly cares about her students. I highly recommend taking her course.ME2350 2023-12-06 23:23:55 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Conveys material in a digestible way. Records all her lectures and the quizzes are really easy if you can do the HW. By far the best professor I've had at Northeastern up to this point.ME2355 2025-12-16 22:44:13 +0000 UTC
There aren't enough characters to describe how amazing she is. She really cares about every student and everything she explained just made sense. Fluids was a really hard class conceptually, but she made it easy. Office hours are amazing, and she's a VERY fair grader. I'd take every class with her if I could.3475 2024-12-15 00:44:30 +0000 UTC
I had Prof. Matherne for ME2350, ME2355, and ME3475. I sought her courses because they are so easy to learn in. I have by far retained the most information from her classes. Her lectures consist of her writing out notes and examples that she has prepared for the class in a very structured and well-paced manner. She is very responsive and helpful.ME2350 2023-09-08 12:25:38 +0000 UTC
Absolutely wonderful professor. She is very good at conveying even the most complex of topics, and is a very fun professor on top of that.ME2355 2025-12-16 13:22:42 +0000 UTC
Professor Matherne is really passionate about what she teaches and very knowledgeable. She is also extremely respectful and never talks down to you which makes it easier to learn. She also is very good at explaining things one on one.3475 2024-06-24 21:25:47 +0000 UTC
Prof. Matherne is a great professor, however the structure of statics in general isn't great. Bad communication, bad graders, multiples instances where the professor had to fix TA's mistakes. Matherne herself is a great prof who can teach well. However the lack of communication and other issues with the class in general subtract from that.ME2350 2022-12-16 12:06:30 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Her teaching style is so informative and easy. Records her lectures if you can't attend and uploads all her notes and example problems on Canvas. Weekly quizzes are easy if you are able to do the HW.ME2355 2025-12-06 05:32:00 +0000 UTC
Very good at lecturing, does plenty of practice problems, and her assignments are always fair. Would take her for every single meche class if I could3475 2024-06-22 16:19:04 +0000 UTC
Prof. Matherne is genuinely the best instructor at Northeastern by far. She is dedicated to making sure everyone can understand and execute on the topics. She actually teaches her students rather than most others who just throw up a ppt and call it a day. I would take every class with her if I could.ME2355 2025-12-06 00:08:16 +0000 UTC
Matherne is amazing!! Absolutely take her class if you can. The lectures are great and she does everything she can to help students succeed.ME2355 2025-12-03 20:54:40 +0000 UTC
Greatest professor you'll ever have. Prof. Matherne is without a doubt, indisputably and unequivocally the best engineering professor you could ask for. She brings an incredible energy to the class every single day and puts so much care into her lectures. She wants to see you succeed and if you show up to class/do the work, you will.ME2355 2025-05-11 21:36:46 +0000 UTC
LOVE LOVE LOVE she brings mechanics to life with her live demonstrations and examples. If I could take every class with her I could. She is genuinely so so caring and accessible outside of class. This is someone who loves teaching and what she teaches. Makes difficult concepts clearer and will go over material as needed based on class understandingME2355 2025-04-29 04:57:04 +0000 UTC
