Speeds through problems without actually explaining things, and then ends class early or gives us random days off. Also made the midterm the day we get back from spring break, despite cancelling the last day of class before spring break. He refused to let us take the test before spring break for no real reason. Otherwise, is nice and entertainingME4508 2026-02-03 19:39:41 +0000 UTC
He was just flat-out mean. I would ask questions, and he would say, "That's a bad question" and then move on. The Tas were nice enough, but they were scared of him because he was just mean to them. If you are forced to take him, find friends in the class, do homework together, and maybe get a Knack tutor.ME2355 2026-01-27 18:48:08 +0000 UTC
For your own sake, PLEASE do not take this class. He is honestly the worst professor I've had the displeasure of taking. 1. He makes rude and patronizing comments towards students 2. (average was ~50% until enough people complained to the department) 3. the only way to succeed is by programing your calculator to do the problems in TI-basic (why???)ME4508 2025-12-18 02:50:46 +0000 UTC
Forced us to spend $100 on a calculator and ignored accounts of cheating. Tests do not match course material. Stay away!ME2355 2025-12-27 01:57:51 +0000 UTC
I have never had such a rude and uncaring professor during my entire undergrad education. He did a horrible job at making the exams and their grading reflective of class material and when any concern was brought to him, responded with hostility. Me and dozens of students in that class can account for his absolute lack of care for students success.ME4508 2025-04-20 20:22:53 +0000 UTC
Avoid if you can! Tests do not match what was actually taught in class.ME2355 2025-12-12 02:22:15 +0000 UTC
Yusti knows his stuff but also expects you to understand the material hes talking about instantly. One practice problem per topic is shown in class, then you do the homework that is much harder. Hes honestly one of the least empathetic profs, tends to have mood swings, and is very lazy. He outputs everything onto TA's and office hours w him suckedME4508 2025-04-19 16:31:23 +0000 UTC
I will say his lectures are sometimes good but the content on exams never matched what was taught in class. Would never be available for office hours and really late turn around times for assignments. Avoid!ME2355 2025-12-12 02:21:00 +0000 UTC
Assignments were straightforward, basically exactly what we did in class. Attendance isn't graded, but you will fall behind if you don't show up. His teaching style is fine. My main issue is that he made the final exam unnecessarily long and changed the format without telling us. He is much nicer to *certain* students over others…ME4508 2024-12-19 19:53:02 +0000 UTC
Decent but fast lecturer. Extremely heavy homework load to an unreasonable point for only 10% of the grade. I stopped doing it altogether to save my grade in other classes and used the problems for practice. I scored ~class average on the tests but the final especially was FAR more difficult than the given practice. Terrible turnaround times. AvoidME2355 2025-12-10 00:16:04 +0000 UTC
Avoid this professor for as many classes as possible. Yusti gives false hope but offers no real support—lecture notes are never uploaded, the material is disorganized, and the exams are absurdly difficult. You'll be left teaching yourself while struggling to meet impossible expectations. Terrible experience.ME4508 2024-12-12 18:25:08 +0000 UTC
Decent teacher with lots of practice problems, but AVOID THIS SECTION he doesn't allow formula sheets on any exam EVERY OTHER while other section does, and his averages are the lowest. Exams are the hardest versions of the problems you study with NO LAYUP QUESTIONS Even extensive studying will not help studied for 50+ hours for the final and failedME2355 2025-12-09 18:13:17 +0000 UTC
His lectures are sloppy overall and don't have structure. He does not explain concepts well and relies examples to have students understand what is going on. He has redeeming moments where his explanation of ideas is superb, but these moments are often few and far between.ME4508 2024-08-14 18:44:05 +0000 UTC
Yusti is the kind of professor I do not respect. He give harder exam than any other statics class without any formula sheet. The prep for these exams are the most basic questions while the exam questions are the hardest level from each topic. He mocks and makes fun of students in class. I do not believe he wishes to see his student succeed.ME2355 2025-12-08 21:30:50 +0000 UTC
Claims to have all the information needed on Canvas but examples and homework show no written, step-by-step solutions. The book answers the same questions in a different method. He refused to give the class detailed solutions after being asked multiple times, he even agreed to give them then claimed he was talking about just answers.ME4508 2023-11-08 16:48:57 +0000 UTC
