Very lecture heavy with little examples on how to complete homework and prepare for exams. He was very unprofessional and lacked a passion for his course. His lectures are average but he's incredibly disrespectful and unhelpful after class. He puts in as little effort as possible into his office hours and would consistently make you feel dumb for having questions, even going as far as to tell you to drop his course, or to drop down into the undergrad one since you didn't understand something.ME5685 2022-02-02 20:23:04 +0000 UTC
Awful. Just absolutely awful. Homework's are very time consuming and graded very harshly. Lectures consist of deriving equations rather than teaching what could be interesting material. One of the best teachers I have had at northeastern. He is extremely hard but you learn a LOT from his classes. He grills the class with questions because he wants you to read the notes you take. Taslim is certainly a more difficult teacher, but he is efficient and effective. Lectures are definitely important and you don't want to miss them. He makes minor mistakes almost every lecture which is very disturbing that you have to stop and rethink what he just did. And be careful he "corrects" the assignment due the next day and never tells the students. Had him for fluids and heat transfer. Very very hard teacher but one of the best I have had at northeastern. Gives good notes and has review sessions before each test which help a lot. I had this Prof for fluids over the summer and I do not understand the low rating. Every lecture he was very clear and great at explaining all fluids topics. The professor is concise, clear and straightforward. He has a very good knowledge of the materials he covers. He is NOT helpful. This professor never uses any electronic devices: the lecture notes are handwritten, and there is no PowerPoint presentation. Do not take a course with Mo Taslim. He does not care for his students at all. The classes he teaches are lecture heavy and dont actually teach much except how to do some very specific problems. Professor Taslim is a professor, not a teacher. This prof lectures for 100min at a time and expects you to teach yourself using the book. He really thinks he's just there to clarify. Google taught us better than him or the book. If you want to learn, good luck. My blood boils knowing how much I paid to take this class.
