The content in the class is very easy and the quizzes is whatever is in the textbook. The lectures are extremely boring but Chafel is a very nice guy. If you want a boring but easy class you should take this.INTB1203 2025-04-25 19:01:06 +0000 UTC
Grading for group projects felt overly strict and unclear. Providing detailed rubrics or examples would help. Some assignments lacked clear instructions, making expectations hard to follow. Also, the multiple-choice questions often didn't align with the material covered in class.INTB1203 2025-04-08 20:46:51 +0000 UTC
Tests are more dependent on textbook material than lecture material and he is willing to adapt the class to student needs. He grades fairly and is super flexible. portions of the class rely on public speaking such as presentations and debates which make up a good portion of your grade. Overall, it is one of my favorite professors and classes!INTB1203 2025-01-24 17:39:19 +0000 UTC
lectures are him talking about his past business endeavors or some guest speaker talking about their job; either way, none of it will be on the next test. He seems more bored than any student, which is saying a lot. He's good if you value free time more than a 4.0. Overall, projects are easy but if you're not good at MC tests you might get a BINTB1203 2023-12-23 19:04:52 +0000 UTC
James is a great person and an ok prof. The class is extremely lecture-heavy, you can sit in the back on your computer if you want, as not much of the lecture, if any, will pertain to the quiz. Each quiz is 10% of your grade and is based purely on the textbook, nothing in class. The group projects are fun at times, easy class, some cool teachings.INTB1203 2023-12-15 18:10:11 +0000 UTC
Definitely should take him for INTB. Really easy class and he also seems to have genuine passion and experience for the class.INTB1203 2023-12-10 02:19:33 +0000 UTC
Professor Chafel is awesome, he made this class super interesting. He is always prepared, gives very clear instructions for project, and patient with students. He uses a lot of real time stories from his professional experience, apples examples to the text book, we love his classes!INTB1203 2023-10-04 23:53:07 +0000 UTC
Not the best teacher. Only recommend him if you need the class for credit. His lectures are super boring. No homework except for readings in the textbook. The majority of your grade will be a group presentation, a group debate, and quizzes. The quizzes are pretty easy. You literally prepare for them by just reading the chapters once.INTB1203 2023-05-10 04:00:04 +0000 UTC
Zzzz...the lectures are so boring both because the material sucks and he speaks so softly. If a 5 min youtube vid can explain it, then there's no need to teach it in a college class. Overall, Chafel is super nice guy and great at facilitating discussions. The quizzes (3x10%) are purely based on the textbook. Not going to learn much.INTB1203 2023-05-02 00:01:26 +0000 UTC
Chafel is an easy course where the lecture days suck but theres enough fun group projects, debates, and guest speakers take up most of the time anyways. Not going to teach you a massive amount of info, but take him if you're looking for a calm class.INTB1203 2023-04-18 14:18:56 +0000 UTC
Lectures are extremely boring and he is not a very understanding professor. The only good thing about his class is the team projects/debates.INTB1203 2022-01-19 19:01:04 +0000 UTC
Easy A, but absolute snooze fest of a class. If attendance weren't mandatory, you could easily get an A on the assignments/quizzes without showing up; a lot of basic international business is just common sense.INTB1203 2021-12-07 00:59:21 +0000 UTC
Professor Chafel is a knowledgeable person with a great background. He knows a lot about INTB and has a few interesting guest speakers. However, his lectures were from the textbook and boring. There are only 2 homework assignments and 2 difficult but interesting group projects. The quizzes aren't too hard since they are from the textbook.INTB1203 2021-12-03 20:58:07 +0000 UTC
DON'T take James Chafel class for INTB 1203. He grades so tough on homework assignments and there's only TWO of them, so it's impossible for you to get an A in his class. His slides are from the textbook and he didn't put any efforts to explain things. The quizzes are not bad, but the group projects can take so much time and work.INTB1203 2021-11-20 00:26:58 +0000 UTC
Professor Chafel is one of the most boring professors I've ever had to listen to. His constant fumbling over his words and typos in his PowerPoints didn't help either. He is not helpful if you reach out to him. The only good things about his class were the quizzes were not overly difficult, and the group projects were actually interesting.INTB1203 2020-12-18 16:59:37 +0000 UTC
