The worst professor I have ever had. Midterm, final, two quizzes. Repetitive lectures, useless information lectured during class that will not appear on any test. Absolutely the worst class of my undergraduate career. Her test questions are so impossibly ambiguous. Seems to me that all those with high GPA's do bad in this class and those who cannot ace other classes do well here. Doesn't that tell you something? Terrorism: good material. unfortunately, following her lengthy carreer in CJ, she lost all inhibition and ability to speak to a class in an organized, coherent fashion. She needs someone telling her to stay on topic. Matheson is a hardass, but if you pay attention you will pass her class no problem. The midterm is always harder than the final. Take notes and READ the text. The text is key to many multiple choice questions. Shes not approachable but shes knowledgable of the courses she teaches and likes to toot her own horn during the lectures. She's a very interesting woman, but her lectures are hard to sit through. Attendance isn't mandatory but she goes through roll call every class and if you're failing and attend every class she bumps your grade up.
