Danahy is a very nice person, but her tests are impossible. Studied for hours on end, yet still felt completely unprepared for each test. The topics covered between the last test and the final are rushed and poorly covered, so there was no shot the "final redemption" policy would apply. Love Pensive Cat, but not this class.CHEM2313 2026-01-26 21:51:39 +0000 UTC
Dr. Danahey is an amazing professor! I took her class for both Orgo 1 and 2 and enjoyed both classes. Her lectures work best for visual learners because she essentially takes notes with you. She is extremely kind and wants her students to succeed. Responds to emails fast. GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!!CHEM2311 2025-12-04 15:38:19 +0000 UTC
As a ChemE who had Danahy for Orgo 1, this was my favorite class of the semester. Puzzle sets were short and sweet. Office hours make the semester enjoyable. I always go into her exams thinking they're going to be harder than they are. I'm coming out of the course feeling like I know how to do useful things with Orgo. Her humor is icing on the cakeCHEM2313 2025-12-23 22:57:51 +0000 UTC
Dr. Danahy is absolutely wonderful. Incredibly kind and truly cares about her students. Her syllabus can make the class seem daunting, but if you put in effort she will genuinely love you and bend over backwards to help you. Read the textbook before lecture, come with questions, go to office hours, and you'll be fine!CHEM2311 2025-09-15 00:26:56 +0000 UTC
I am reading all of these bad reviews and truly wondering if I was the same class as y'all…Like yes her exams are hard but the comments about there being no support are just false. She has 3 hours of office hours per week, responds to emails in like 10 minutes, and has 3 excellent TAs. She is also extremely kind and nonjudgmental.CHEM2313 2025-12-18 04:18:38 +0000 UTC
She was a very hard grader and all tests were very difficult. She teaches in lecture very well but that is it. She provides no support, gives no extra credit and doesn't curve. Be prepared to study for your life for this class.CHEM2311 2025-07-02 23:45:39 +0000 UTC
Danahy is an amazing teacher who really cares about her students. This course is of course challenging, but she sets us up for success. Her exams are all free response, so if you prefer MC, take it with another teacher. I really enjoyed this class, and it has made me appreciate chemistry more! My D in her class is a reflection of me not her!CHEM2313 2025-12-15 23:13:33 +0000 UTC
In all honesty she is a very sweet professor but she is extremely difficult. Orgo is a hard class no matter who you have, but she doesn't help. No curves, extra credit, or test corrections. Her exams are extremely difficult much more so then previous years and practice problems. I shed blood, sweat and tears and still ended with a C.CHEM2311 2025-05-15 02:44:33 +0000 UTC
Super nice and caring; very accessible and approachable outside of class for extra help. Lectures are given via her iPad, and her notes and weekly homework are very useful to learn from. If free-response exams and "content mastery" aren't your thing, take the other professors with MC tests.CHEM2313 2025-12-15 22:18:29 +0000 UTC
Professor Danahy is awesome. The textbook reading are not super important if you understand the lectures. The puzzle sets are really good practice for exams. She is so helpful and kind during office hours. Her lecturing style is keeps you engaged during class and she gives time for practice problems during which she walks around and offers help.CHEM2311 2025-05-07 01:50:18 +0000 UTC
Take someone else if you can. I loved orgo 1 and got an A, but did terrible in this class. Exams are extremely hard and despite studying nonstop, I felt hopeless. The exams have content that we never covered. Some puzzle sets were easy, and some were very hard. She also doesn't curve, give extra credit, etc. She's nice, but the class is so so hard.CHEM2313 2025-12-15 20:53:32 +0000 UTC
She is very kind and so knowledgeable in chemistry. However, the textbook problems and practice do not compare to the difficulty of exams, which make up mostly all of your grade. She is a very tough grader. If you take orgo with her you will learn a lot, but do know that it is very toughCHEM2311 2025-05-01 02:34:42 +0000 UTC
Honestly liked her for orgo 1 and did well. However, this class was so bad for orgo 2. Insanely hard exams and randomly pulls out mechanisms no one has ever seen. I studied like 30 hours a week and still felt blindsided on her exams. Take Matthews instead.CHEM2313 2025-12-15 01:55:05 +0000 UTC
Such a kind professor. But to be honest, her test are NOTHING like the assignments and previous exams as she claims, PREVIOUS ONES R 10x EASIER! She puts EVERYTHING reviewed in class on exam, class avg is usually in the 70s or low 80s. Classes are so hard to sit through and you get exhausted and bored by the end. Ur in for a treat, a GPA bust :(CHEM2311 2025-04-30 07:43:36 +0000 UTC
DON'T TAKE HER. Her exams are impossible. She says, "I'm not trying to trick you." SHE IS. I spent so many hours a day studying, but nothing prepares you for the exams. Grade is basically just 4 exams, including the cumulative final. No practice is similar to exam questions because she pulls questions out of yk what. Take Staton or MathewsCHEM2313 2025-12-14 03:37:13 +0000 UTC
