Great professor; I wish he taught higher-level Bio classes so I could take another class with him. Great mix of keeping lectures interesting without going off topic, and he is very accessible during office hours. Lectures are entirely recorded and attendance is not graded. Prof Grabiner is a good lecturer and gives plenty of outside help if needed. Class is very test-heavy; grades are based on 4 unit exams and a final. There are a few online quizzes, too, but they're not worth much of your grade. Dr. G's class has been one of my favorites! Classes are lecture heavy, but they are really engaging and he structures them in a way that is easy to understand and pick up (they are also recorded, which is helpful). Dr.G is a great lecturer and does a good job of breaking down complex concepts. This class is not lecture-heavy and is more of a Socratic seminar. He does a great job of making difficult concepts a more digestible. Lectures are recorded and not mandatory but going helps a lot. You can tell that he wants you to do well, but you have to put in the effort. Exams are entirely multiple choice, which I found to be tough. GOATED Professor, Really cares about the class and about students. He tries his best to help students to get the best grades. Attendance is not mandatory and lowkey is not really necessary because all you need to know is going to be on slides. Grabiner is a great professor who gets the class involved in discussion about the papers. The inquiries section I took with him is on the ubiquitin proteasome pathway. Dr. G was an incredible professor; he presented information in a way that made sense and gave plenty of practice material that reflected the questions well. Questions could be a bit conveluded some times but if you put time into practice they shouldnt trip you up. Really great teacher and provides all the material for you to succeed in the class. Tests are 85% of your grade (mcq based) and 15% review quizzes (3 attempts). Would've been perfect but some of his mcq were really tricky and 2 answers could have possibly worked. Brilliant lecturer. MC tests can be a little wordy and tricky at times, but college-level readers should be prepped for them.
