Absolutely wonderful woman!! She is so sweet and so kind, yet can still discuss difficult topics analytically and with grace. You will be graded on only a few assignments, however, she gives you enough time and clear rubrics. Her class was very meaningful and I feel like I learned a lot.HIST2282 2025-02-09 22:25:11 +0000 UTC
Clearly cannot handle the workload of being a department chair and a POLS professor as she cannot give feedback/ grades or email back in a timely manner. You will not get anything out of her classes. I think her being the department head shows how bad the POLS curriculum is at Northeastern University.POLS 2025-02-05 17:48:08 +0000 UTC
god awful. super annoying and boring lectures. horrible grading feedback and grades based on her own opinionPOLS2332 2024-04-17 17:39:58 +0000 UTC
The class itself is easy, pick 2/4 essays, groups project, final paper, and bi-weekly module posts. Personally, Prof Bormann's teaching style is not my thing. Its giving the whimsical philosophy teacher from a sitcom. Sometimes was annoying with grading/ gave vague feedback. The lectures are long but no attendance taken.POLS2328 2024-04-11 21:18:28 +0000 UTC
A super knowledgable and effective scholar and lecturer. She does at times push her own perspectives almost as facts to her students in class, but that doesn't mean she's close-minded. While she may disagree with you, Professor Bormann encourages and supports her students to have their own points of view.POLS4701 2020-02-08 10:00:11 +0000 UTC
Here's the thing about Dr. Bormann, if she has a TA you get an easy A, if she is grading the papers herself you will have to work hard for it. Although she is EXTREMELY knowledgeable on Holocaust content, she is very stubborn to allow student points of views and ideas to succeed in papers. Being too politically correct is also her visible weakness.POLS2282 2020-01-02 16:37:55 +0000 UTC
Overall great teacher! Always promotes a positive and engaging learning environment. Her accent is pretty awesome.2328 2014-11-21 11:36:08 +0000 UTC
She is a really good professor. She takes time to help, and is always available when you need her. Make sure you hand your work in on time and you will be fine.CAPST001 2010-06-30 12:15:42 +0000 UTC
The class is fairly simple: 2/4 essays to align best with your schedule + 1 group presentation. Professor Bormann is very kind and caring to each student. Class topics and get a bit argumentative and dark as you discuss topics of genocide (Ex: Israel vs Palestine, Turkey vs Albania) though she allows you to step out of class if you need to.HIST2282 2023-11-22 18:12:50 +0000 UTC
Professor Bormann is fantastic! She was frequently available for in-person or online office hours to further discuss readings, assignments, etc. She is very passionate and knowledgeable in her field and respectfully pushes students to challenge and discuss topics that might be uncomfortable.POLS 2023-12-26 18:58:25 +0000 UTC
Professor Bormann is extremely knowledgeable. The thing I like the most is that she understand you take other courses and thus gives you a reasonable amount of papers for you to complete. She is nice and if you work and understand the material you definitely can get an APOLS2332 2017-09-07 10:48:34 +0000 UTC
Graded on 1 group presentation, 2/4 essays, and discussions (full credit just for attending). Very easy class and you do not need to go to every class nor does the class meet every block; attendance is only taken on discussion days. She is super nice and understanding.POLS2328 2022-12-16 17:37:07 +0000 UTC
Great professor, super helpful, knows what she's teaching. Also, quite funny.POLS4701 2011-05-04 20:04:36 +0000 UTC
Shes really nice and great to talk to. However, I felt it was a waste of time and I didnt get much out of it. I felt I didnt learn much about the topic of genocide instead just discussed it. While she is super nice, the lectures were a complete waste of time and the class was poorly set up. Its easy to get a good grade but you may fall asleep.HIST2282 2021-05-12 15:36:28 +0000 UTC
She is so great. She leads an amazing discussion and her accent is fun. She is very intelligent and really encourages thinking outside of the social norm. Love her!POLS 2013-04-23 17:51:20 +0000 UTC
