Professor Sylvanus is a great professor that truly cares for her students. The course is a bit reading-heavy but her lectures / discussions are very engaging. As long as you participate in class and put effort into group projects and discussion boards, you'll do great.ANTH2305 2024-12-12 19:13:09 +0000 UTC
She was trying out new course material in our section, so it was a bit rough. She moves quickly and sometimes assumes everyone knows what she means. Really caring and cool person though!ANTH4510 2023-11-20 19:17:27 +0000 UTC
Nina is a great professor who clearly cares a lot for student's well-being and genuinely wants everyone to be engaging with the material. She will treat you like an adult, which is good.ANTH3400 2022-05-03 16:42:22 +0000 UTC
Shes such a nice lady and has an aura through the screen (because i had her online this semester) that is really inviting and makes you feel comfortable and want to participate in her class. She did say the class wasn't heavy on reading.. I would say that there was quite a bit of reading. Shes easy to meet with and cares about her students.ANTH2305 2020-11-18 17:35:15 +0000 UTC
I took Dr. Sylvanus's class in my last semester as an elective. The material wasn't particularly new to me, but she taught me to look at it as an anthropologist. She genuinely cares for her students' mental health, and is very responsive to what her students need, educationally and emotionally.ANTH3400 2021-04-07 14:39:11 +0000 UTC
I've had her as a professor twice now. Very open ended class with lots of discussion, and she really cares about teaching what the students are most interested in. There is a quite a bit of reading, and they tend to be hard and theoretical, but really interesting.ANTH3400 2015-01-11 22:22:26 +0000 UTC
