i love cai laoshi. this class was super easy. there are dictations basically every class (5-7 characters & pinyin) but she is so forgiving with them. homework was assigned once in a while. she always lets you know what's going to be on the exams and the final is just a skit. if you show up and participate, you will definitely get an A.CHNS1101 2025-04-26 00:58:30 +0000 UTC
Professor Cai was a wonderful teacher, and I really enjoyed taking her class. She is very caring, understanding, but do note that there is an emphasis on participation/actively attending class (in-person) as it is a language class. I just didn't enjoy the service learning portion of the class (as we had to cover transportation costs), but yeah!CHN301 2024-04-25 09:48:58 +0000 UTC
I took her class, only because I had no option to choose but her. She doesn't explain any characters during class nor write them on the board. Once you get out from class you don't remember anything. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with her yelling to students when they don't speak Chinese like native speakers.1101 2015-03-26 14:16:44 +0000 UTC
The sweetest professor ever. She is so kind and flexible. There are daily quizzes/dictations, but if you study the material for 30-50 minutes each day you will do just fine. She is a lenient grader and the same applies to the homework. Exam revisions are also offered! As long as you make an effort and participate in class, it'll be an easy A.CHNS1101 2025-04-26 00:47:42 +0000 UTC
do not take this class. ridiculous amount of work. required voyage to cambridge every week. somewhat fair graderCHN301 2023-11-29 03:02:03 +0000 UTC
Even if you kinda suck at Chinese she's pretty forgiving. If you show that you're working hard and do all the homework she's pretty great.CHNS1101 2020-08-12 18:28:01 +0000 UTC
Really nice prof, wants you to do well, all quizzes/tests are done through blackboard. Quiz reviews done before class and are mostly the exact same thing you will see. Lets you see exams before having to take them.CHN301 2009-06-04 22:18:16 +0000 UTC
she treats you like her children. fair on grading. you just have to practice the materials for 30-50 mins per day and you will be get an A. easy adn fun class. you get to meditate as well.CHNS1101 2017-02-25 13:48:26 +0000 UTC
