Super funny dude. His lectures are pretty information-heavy, so best to make sure to attend class. Sometimes it was a little difficult to gauge what information was important and what wasn't. Very helpful outside of class and makes sure you are prepared for the tests. Would recommend!ME2340 2025-12-11 17:22:01 +0000 UTC
Took Randy's Soft Matter grad class. Was very insistent on applying the theories to practical use and it was really fun to be part of that. Super nice guy and understanding when you'd let him know about any problems with the course. He really loved the classroom interaction and you could see that it hurt him to lose that to the COVID situation.MATL6250 2020-04-30 06:14:45 +0000 UTC
Really amazing professor. He would make class entertaining by cracking jokes and doing in-class experiments. Sat in front and looked forward to coming into this class everyday. He focused on practical applications that are helpful in industry. Super knowledgeable, funny, and one of my favorite professors. I would love to take a class of his again.ME2340 2023-12-16 05:39:46 +0000 UTC
Randy is a great guy and really knows his stuff. Was great when in-person and online. Made a effort to help people and have clear grading criteria so that you were set up to succeed. Tests were oddly specific so if you didnt specifically say something in your answers, it was wrong. However, peeps you and wants you to succeed. Brilliant guyME2340 2020-04-28 02:24:00 +0000 UTC
No reason to bomb this. It's not easy and it's boring af ,but he offers a lot of support and chances to boost your grade. He's chillME2340 2016-11-23 18:16:23 +0000 UTC
Good professor. Not an easy A course. But He's helpful, so there's no reason to do badly.ME2340 2016-07-05 19:30:21 +0000 UTC
Honestly the best professor I've had so far. He was very clear and very helpful. The tests and homework assignments aren't easy but if you pay attention and let him know when you're struggling you'll do fine.ME2340 2015-12-06 22:40:32 +0000 UTC
Knows his stuff. Lots of extra credit and he draws cartoons on his lecture slides Keep up with the work and you'll do fine. Cute tooME2340 2015-10-07 18:44:37 +0000 UTC
I don't enjoy material science, but he manages to make the class entertaining. It's obvious that he's really into the material. He also cares a lot about his students and gives many opportunities for extra help. He's also kinda quirky and silly, which makes things fun. Side note, he's really, really attractive. *swoon*ME2340 2014-12-01 22:51:15 +0000 UTC
Professor Erb is the most proactive I have ever seen when it comes to adjusting his teaching style to help students when he sees we are struggling. He could be more engaging, but in terms of a professor committed to doing his job well and to being available for students, I couldn't ask for anything better.ME2340 2013-04-27 19:51:44 +0000 UTC
