very kind and knowledgable professor but classes are incredibly boring. He is so knowledgable that he can easily talk for the full 2 hours which means it is difficult not to zone out because the class is not engaged at all. I have never had another professor that was as BAD. He has no clear grading guidelines, chooses the worst cases for class discussion, only chooses on certain people to participate in class, gives so much homework and reading, and is just overall one of the worst professors I've had at northeastern university.STRT4501 2020-10-23 14:15:49 +0000 UTC
Incredibly smart person! Very well-read and a great professor. A lot of cases to read through, but in-depth discussions make it worth your time. Worst professor ever. Talks over students, cuts them off, cold calls on people he thinks won't know the answer or aren't paying attention (so great when they answer correctly and shut him down though!) and thinks he knows everything. Professor Sarathy is really the smartest professor I had at Northeastern. Hes really knowledgeable and caring. You can learn so much if you read the materials before the class. Prof. Sarathy was a pleasure to have as a lecturer. Having had both sections (repeated the course), I can say his teaching style is more appreciable. This is said with from the perspective of an international student (personally and academically). He's got good experience and is a good prof.The cases were good but he needs to change his style of case discussions as they are extremely detailed and lose the students' interests.He needs to better manager class time and make it more interactive.
