This was an online course for me, and I still can say she is horrible. She is VERY rude, petty, not willing to help struggling students. Her grading has no rubric and seems like she hands out grades based on how she's feeling. Does not keep her politics out of class. Made us buy a textbook, yet never uses it. I am an A student. Rarely have I had issues with professors. However, this class and teacher had me pulling out my hair. First of all her grading system as it's setup is confusing and leaves no room for error. I would expect a teacher to sympathize with her students, rather she is apethetic. Veronica was definitely interested in her students and the subject matter (Comparative Politics). She was well prepared for all classes and clearly put time into her lessons. The only drawback of her class would be her grading. Veronica is very smart and knowledgable but she expects a lot out of her students, sometimes a little too much. She is great to deal with one on one however, so highly suggest going to her office hours. Take notes during class because she gives no study guide and does not make ppts available. Research Methods:Terrible course. It should be understood that this course is rather dry and can feel a bit redundant. She did not help with this. Extremely rude and condescending. She could not have cared less about our concerns. TA/Recitation for Comp Politics. Very nice & helpful w/ papers. Opinionated, but entertaining and open-minded. Helped clarify lectures & gave additional information through article readings. I really enjoyed the class. There are quizzes every week based on the lecture from the week before but don't worry, as long as you paid attention, the quizzes are easy. She gives the midterm and final but if you paid attention, attended, class, and took notes you'll do fine.
