He is not up to date on the technology needed to effectively teach. His handwriting is also very difficult to read and his lectures are rarely helpful. He is never prepared for class. Worst prof ive had at northeastern so far. If you HAVE to take his class, my best rec would be to completely ignore everything he's saying and not take in any information from the lectures. I do not say this lightly, Yong-Bin Kim is the worst professor I have ever had. I had severe medical issues during his semester, his behavior towards me was so bad (he told me *in writing* my surgery wasn't necessary, and kicked me out of multiple classes) that the school gave me a full refund for the semester. Master of electronic circuits! Very nice professor when I asked his help outside the classroom. He is very fair and enthusiastic about teaching. He knows what he teaches. Before I took the class, I heard that his exams arehard. But is is reasonably easy because most of the exam are from the homework and the stuffs he emphasize in the class. He promptly replies with clear explanations when I send him emails asking questions. He is very knowledgeable in electronics. I hope all electronics class are taught by him. Students generally enjoy his class because he explains the concepts and usage of electronic circuits clearly. Terrible teacher. Can't hear him from the front row, can't read his handwriting, incredibly stubborn. Will not post anything online, no practice tests or problems, and will not record classes. He is an excellent professor. I didn't know much about electronics before I took his special topic class because my electronics professor was horrible. However, Prof. Yong-Bin Kim was a totally different person. His explanation was so clear. I like to take all the previous courses with the professor if I could.
