Poor lecture slides and bad at communicating topics, would usually just throw an equation on the board and run through the variables really quickly. Learned a lot more from struggling through homework. Students are usually unprepared for exams, so he just grades incredibly softly to make it look like a normal distributionCIVE2334 2018-12-06 15:03:24 +0000 UTC
He was unclear in lectures, making homework very hard so most of the class had to go to office hours every week just to understand how to approach the problems. Tests are difficult and there was always one question the entire class got wrong so he would give us all half credit for it, which was nice. Stay updated on materials, he gives pop quizzes.CIVE2334 2017-11-02 23:10:07 +0000 UTC
Honestly, Prof. Pinto has his own style of teaching. If you are the guy who is looking for an easy A, THIS guy is not the right prof. to take. However, if you really plan to give it some effort, you will enjoy his class. Pop up quizzes are easy and fair. Midterms and final have a special structure; basically one connected Prob.
