Class was insanely easy, everything is multiple choice and questions are reused from previous quizzes and tests. If lots of people get a question wrong on a test he gives everyone credit for it, so everyone does well. Lectures are really boring, content is too easy and it not connected well, it was really hard to motivate to go to class.BIOL2301 2024-02-06 15:33:08 +0000 UTC
Nice guy, easy class. He is extremely knowledgeable about his subject, but does spend a lot of time going off on tangents. Willing to answer student questions, and encourages participation. It was really cool to learn about COVID through this class.BIOL5573 2021-05-04 12:36:26 +0000 UTC
You'll get an A. You most likely won't learn anything, and he's impossible to access out of class. He does care about you and overall is really funny and a great person. His lectures are generally just tangents and mumbling, but again you're going to get an A. But paying thousands for an A but learning not much isn't great either. Labs can be alot.BIOL3421 2020-06-17 19:52:41 +0000 UTC
He is amazing!! If you need to take microbiology take this class with him! Material is challenging but he makes this as manageable as possible. He reinforces what is most important and you're never stuck memorizing unnecessary things you'll never see again! I feel like I learned so much and I actually really enjoyed this class!BIOL1121 2018-04-25 18:16:04 +0000 UTC
New prof. He is kind of chilllllllll. Better than the other gen bio professorsBIOL1111 2017-11-21 00:02:58 +0000 UTC
It was an easy A with Prof D'Onofrio but his lectures were pretty boring. All of his quizzes/exams were MC and he also scales a lotBIOL2301 2023-12-20 22:49:33 +0000 UTC
Gen Bio 1 was an easy A with this prof. He had online textbook homework (for completion), three multiple choice exams and a final. VERY easy exams! The multiple choice are not tricky and as long as you study a little, you should do well. The final had mostly questions from previous exams (like word for word) plus a few new questions.BIOL1111 2017-06-08 11:18:57 +0000 UTC
Easy class, don't need to use the textbook to pass. Take him, you'll be fineBIOL2301 2023-12-18 18:49:34 +0000 UTC
Honestly a really kind and understanding person. He often goes on tangents throughout lectures, but he's truly passionate about the course material and his own studies in bio-sequencing. Not hard to do well as he puts questions on exams that can be directly found in lecture slides.BIOL2301 2023-11-14 04:10:02 +0000 UTC
Dr. D'onofrio is a great genetics professor. His tests are straightforward and if you do the practice exams and come to class you'll do well. The final is mostly a repeat of questions from old exams. His class is interesting and he makes a typically hard class very comprehensible and manageable.BIOL2301 2019-11-19 17:59:15 +0000 UTC
Dr. D'onofrio cares a lot about what he teaches and is passionate about the subject matter. If you do the readings, participate in lecture, and study before the exams you will do well.BIOL2301 2019-08-06 21:18:36 +0000 UTC
Genetics with D'Onofrio is a MUST. I had him for GenBio but he definitely has a passion for this class. Other Genetics classes are grueling/boring. His class is lecture heavy but include hilarious videos and interesting recent events in the field. Teaches you everything and tests only on key concepts. Gives you practice exam questions in class!BIOL2301 2019-02-15 17:51:59 +0000 UTC
He's pretty funny and makes an effort to be approachable/accessible. Lectures mostly involve him reading off his slides but his explanations of diagrams etc. are better than if you just look at it on your own and he tells you what he'll stress on the tests in class only so I'd recommend showing up. Tests are multiple choice and straight forwardBIOL2301 2018-06-18 08:57:34 +0000 UTC
