I love Dr. Y. Classes are definitely lecture-heavy, but she records them. And sometimes lecture won't be interesting, but lock in & you'll do fine on every exam. Dr Y is a sweetie! Her class is interesting and the poster project is a semester long effort and not bad at all. Her tests are a bit tricky, but not that heavily weighted. Her lectures are crucial for details on exams, so review daily because content builds up. I took A&P 2 with Professor Yesilaltay and I don't regret it at all. She's super caring and wants her students to succeed. There are 4 exams (lowest one gets dropped) and a final. This class was interesting and Professor Y was very funny, but her teaching style was often hard to follow. There were a few exams and open note quizzes, but they weighed very lightly in terms of your grade. I had Dr.Yesilaltay for both A&P 1 and 2, she is amazing! It is a lecture heavy course but lectures are recorded so you can always go back and rewatch. There is test corrections after each exam and your lowest exam grade gets dropped. She is very enthusiastic about teaching and was an overall great professor! I thought Professor Yesilatay was really nice and caring of her students, but her lectures were often confusing. You have to attend class to know what will actually be on tests because the lecture slides are not helpful. There were few assignments, but they were all pretty lengthy. Dr Y was an engaging lecturer and explained material clearly. Lecture heavy, so attending class was necessary since slides were not comprehensive and most content on quizzes/exams was only taught in class. Grade was determined by many small assignments. She makes stuff really detailed and deep more than what we are learning in class during the test. She also walks around so much during the test. She is a very nice lady and cares a lot about what she is talking about. However the way she explains things is not straightforward at all and her lectures are very hard to follow. take-home quizzes every week, poll ev for attendance, and exams that are completely fair/not too difficult, it is manageable to pass this daunting class. she is super sweet and answers emails so fast. if anything the lab was the hardest part and i mean its HARD, so time consuming for a 1 credit course but the lecture is more than fine honestly.BIOL2217 2025-04-10 14:01:51 +0000 UTC
She rambles and goes off topic a lot during lectures but you can tell she's really passionate about her job. Slides are not helpful at all to study with so make sure to attend lectures to catch key points here and there she'll test you on. Amazing lady and so caring as a person. The lectures are a bit hard to follow. She often goes on tangents that are unrelated and the slides are not very helpful in explaining the content. The test questions are often more detailed and difficult then the lecture slides or what is covered in class.
