Unfortunately, this will be Becky's last year as a professor, just wanted to leave a note saying how good of a professor she was. Not sure if she changed her syllabus but the workload that some people claim to have does not reflect the workload in this course. Effective teacher and quite the personality, overall amazing and enjoy retirement, Becky!EEMB2400 2024-11-26 03:34:55 +0000 UTC
Becky is an absolutely wonderful teacher and professor. The problem is all the work that is assigned for both lab and lecture. Somewhere between 1 and 5 assignments due each week. Also a final exam, final project, and final paper all for a single class is pretty absurd. Gets very convoluted toward the end of the semesterEEMB2302 2024-04-22 18:12:24 +0000 UTC
This class was extremely difficult for an introductory class. She showed little respect or care for her students but repeatedly insisted she did. Her exams are subjective and contain several errors. She strives to be like her teacher from BU that taught evolution and she "hardly passed". Asks for respect but cannot earn it with her attitude.EEMB2300 2019-06-24 01:35:43 +0000 UTC
Becky is a great professor, but her tests can be very difficult and attending lectures and taking notes is absolutely necessary. Her powerpoints are very interesting, but sometimes a bit vague, hence the need to show up and take notes on what she is actually saying. Overall, if you put in the effort, study, and get to know her, you will do fine.EEMB2290 2016-04-19 12:51:12 +0000 UTC
DON'T BUY THE BOOK!!! just attend lecture. The course swings from puzzle-like evolution topics to gross amounts of memorization. I learned next to nothing, took the hardest tests I have ever seen, and had to work needlessly hard to get the grade I wanted. Avoid her at all costs.BIOL1103 2014-04-14 15:45:01 +0000 UTC
Had her for the evolutionary bio class. Becky is super nice even though her class is a bit tough. But honestly she's just adapting you to life as a bio major. She's willing to help out/clarify and wants you to do well, but the tests are difficult, they aren't just memorizing facts but also making inferences with what you know.BIOL2297 2013-09-04 22:29:04 +0000 UTC
Sociobio with Prof Rosengaus is a great class. She is very upbeat and tries to engage the class to keep their attention.BIOL5547 2010-12-22 13:33:05 +0000 UTC
Very rude to me for no reason at all. Wasn't willing to help me with notes and lectures after I missed a week of classes due to being HOSPITALIZED. Didn't do well on her pop quizzes because of that but got A's and B's on the exams to which she replied , "oh I guess you can be smart sometimes." If she likes you you're golden.BIO2 2010-08-04 08:45:45 +0000 UTC
She's not as bad as people make her seem to be. She gives pop quizzes so you have to go to class. Her exams aren't factual, they make you think and apply the knowledge you've acquired. You'll get used to her, she's actually quite entertaining and funny. I think her course is the weed-out class, so hang in there because the exams get easier.BIOU103 2009-04-27 13:51:35 +0000 UTC
ugh where do i start! shes a meanie, def made me cry in her office hours, harsh and not approacable. gives alot of quizzes! dont go to class if your the slightest bit sleepy and you think you will close your eyes for .4 seconds! she will catch you! boring lecture with thick accent! a bit scary for me, but i guess she means well?BIO103 2008-05-03 23:25:12 +0000 UTC
Becky is the best. I really had a good time in her class. Not exactly what I was expecting, but it was still a good class. Exams were tough. It's def an upper level bio class. Also had grad students. Becky's teaching style is awesome. I'd recommend herSOCIOBIO 2008-01-17 10:50:58 +0000 UTC
She is hard and rude at first but i keep working at it and got a B- out the class. She can be pretty mean though. Her classes can be a sleeper.BIO101 2007-04-11 10:14:06 +0000 UTC
The class itself is hard, tests suck, but Becky is great. She comes off ass a hard-ass in the beginning, but she's actually really nice. Go to her office hours. Read the book. Study. She's pretty funny, and cracks some random jokes.PRINCBIO2 2007-04-05 13:46:20 +0000 UTC
I think she's great. Lectures are very organized and well put together, she goes over everything like 7 times, interesting stuff. Tests are straight out of the material she gives you. She wants you to get it, I've gone to her, she was brisk but helpful- I think that's just her manner. if you like bio, take her and don't slack off or skip class.PRINCIPLES2 2006-04-04 02:53:56 +0000 UTC
She is the kinda person who would teach for the scheduled 60 min...not a sec short. Cannot skip her classes all time cuz she give pop quizes. Her test need some studying time. Too much for BIO 2. Take the class with a different prof. Easier ABIO102 2005-09-01 19:20:11 +0000 UTC
