My favorite teacher ever. One 3 question quiz at the beginning of class and an online midterm and final. He is a chill guy and would take his class again if I could. Lectures are a little boring, he knows, but he tried to make them engaging. 5/5, take this professor if you have the chance.ENVR1400 2025-04-27 14:24:48 +0000 UTC
Love this guy! He's super kind and interesting, and he cares about his students. There are reading quizzes but they are usually like 3-4 questions and super easy. Only thing was the lectures got boring at some points, but he's aware of that and he tries to keep them engaging. I would definitely take him again in the future if an opportunity arises.ENVR1400 2025-04-10 17:10:49 +0000 UTC
He is the best at teaching lecture style because he still makes it engaging. He also gives us lots of time to do group work and puts a heavy focus on prioritizing our mental health.ENVR1400 2025-04-07 16:30:35 +0000 UTC
You have to attend to class for the reading quizzes but they are easy if you do the reading. He is so nice and my fav professor this semester.ENVR1400 2024-11-13 20:34:27 +0000 UTC
Not a bad professor but this class was somewhat boring. Some more participation from other students or enthusiasm from him would have helped. I was inspired to become vegetarian from this class and was introduced the idea of environmental costs. I wish I had spoken with him more after class and gone to office hours; he's rather friendly.ENVR1400 2024-08-12 03:08:16 +0000 UTC
Awesome and FunENVR1400 2024-04-25 16:22:09 +0000 UTC
He is a great teacher who enjoys teaching and cares about his students. In addition to being great at conveying information to his students, he is funny and enjoyable to listen to. The reading is a bit lengthy and too similar to the lectures, however I did not find these things to be much of a problem.ENVR1400 2023-11-27 19:38:42 +0000 UTC
Ben is great. The only thing that I didn't love about his class was the repetitiveness. Outside readings were assigned but then the SAME content would be covered in lecture. The only incentive to read beforehand was a 3-question quiz administered at the beginning of class. Other than that, his class is pretty fun.ENVR1400 2023-08-26 01:21:21 +0000 UTC
Professor Dittbrenner is a person who truly cares about his students. He also has a very easy class, where you're primarily graded off lecture activities, reading quizzes, and a midterm and final exam. His lectures are exactly like the textbook, so if you do the readings before each lecture you'll have a head start and will do great on each quiz.ENVR1400 2023-05-15 20:10:35 +0000 UTC
I LOVE Dr. Ben. Overall, it's an easy class. You do have to reading before each class but they're really interesting facts to learn. He doesn't talk about the readings in detail in class however does a 3 question reading quiz before each class. If you come to each class and do the in-class group work, you will definitely get an A.ENVR1400 2023-04-03 22:49:10 +0000 UTC
Professor Dittbrenner is very caring and cares about both his students and what he teaches. Lectures are kind of redundant, as he teaches directly from the textbook (with slightly less detail). Emphasizes mental health care for students. Exams are open note. Small quizzes before each class on the chapter due- 22ish quizzes total.ENVR1400 2023-01-09 17:52:19 +0000 UTC
