I loved Prof. Mestre. She's super passionate about what she teaches and overall a very caring professor. Only two exams for the whole semester, and both are open note. All the exams are based on the powerpoint lectures she gives in class. There's also a semester long group project but it's fairly easy.1101 2025-12-14 03:15:08 +0000 UTC
I took SustDev. (2515) and was nervous seeing her reviews here. She actually is so insanely chill and the work is adequate for a 2000 level course. All 3 tests are open note, homework 2x a week, and a semester long project that is the "final." Literally dont worry about her or this class, shes actually really sweet and I would take her class again.1101 2025-12-10 22:18:03 +0000 UTC
Class was somewhat interesting but very basic. Homework is minimal one group project spanning the whole semester along with a midterm and a final as well as some other minor assignments. ALL the content is in lectures which are pretty average. Professor is sometimes disorganized, but very kind/passionate and loves to connect. Overall not bad.1101 2025-04-26 18:58:43 +0000 UTC
I'm so sad to see all the negative comments because I loved Prof. Mestre. Course was so interesting, never too much homework, and lots of group work during class. Gives detailed feedback and always happy to answer questions. Super knowledgeable and passionate about environmental science.1101 2022-06-06 06:40:37 +0000 UTC
*this is for ENVR2515 but it wont let me select that course* Lots of busywork and attendance was mandatory (grade dropped for every missed class). Whole course centered around one final project, so I didn't learn much. It was an easy A though, and Mariana is really nice.1101 2022-05-13 03:01:29 +0000 UTC
I took her intro class last semester, and I enjoyed her class. She did not have a TA (though there were about 50 people in the class), so she didn't have the flexibility to do much. She is clear and strict about her grading, but the course material is straightforward and easy to grasp. She is very caring when you work with her directly too.1101 2022-05-09 21:16:15 +0000 UTC
This was not a college level course. Her environmental science class is basically a farming class where almost nothing is learned. Pretty easy overall but felt like a waste of time. Grades on the big project were unnecessarily low. Professor does not properly answer questions when asked, then gives bad grade when you answer the way she told you to.1101 2022-05-04 17:36:23 +0000 UTC
Generally pretty easy class but very basic concepts. Moves very slowly so doesn't feel like an efficient use of time.1101 2022-04-20 02:06:08 +0000 UTC
I dont know why it won't let me select 2515 - Sustainable Development. I love this class. The whole class is based around a group project due at the end of the semester and when you're not working on the project she does cool and relevant lectures such as rural rights and racism. Theres a bit of homework due every night but no tests. She's so sweet1101 2022-04-20 01:05:28 +0000 UTC
She sucks. Is not a capable professor.1101 2022-04-14 17:19:39 +0000 UTC
This class felt unproductive. Prof Mestre seemed to talk down to students and spent a lot of time on simple topics that had already been learned in most elementary/middle schools. I felt as though I didn't gain an in depth understanding of envi science. This class is also very farming based so do not take it if you are not interested in that.1101 2022-04-11 17:11:49 +0000 UTC
