Professor Erten is extremely caring and engaging. She explains everything well and lays out what is required for assignments. Easy exams. Great professor.ECON1115 2021-11-25 03:22:31 +0000 UTC
Bilge will help you in and outside of class! She even encourages some of her students to get their papers published! The class can be challenging but she is open to have fun discussions on topics.ECON2560 2019-05-29 13:04:22 +0000 UTC
She has you read academic papers instead of using a textbook (a treat) She has a wealth of knowledge in regards to the material as well as the profession, so be sure to ask about her experiences in the field. She responds to students who show interest. If you're looking for an easy class look elsewhere. If you love econ, she's one of the best!ECON7250 2016-05-07 19:28:29 +0000 UTC
Prof. Erten is a solid professor, but the challenge is self-driven. If you want an easy grade or if you want a challenge, this class would be an option. She assigns a lot of reading, but the vast majority is *de facto* optional: do not be scared by the syllabus. Lectures generally great but mostly from prepared slides she made and posted online.ECON3915 2016-04-26 14:14:35 +0000 UTC
Prof Erten Is nice and knowledgable, but as someone who has never taken an econ class before, this class was difficult and challenging, and at times the class moved too quickly to follow. Many other students in this class already have quite a bit of knowledge in Econ. The midterm was good, but final was hard.ECON1115 2020-04-28 02:44:47 +0000 UTC
Prof. Erten is one of my FAV professors at Northeastern University!!! She respects everyone and encourages students to participate. She really knows how to teach Macroeconomics and makes it very easy to understand if you pay attention to the lecture/slides (textbook-not necessary). And she is pretty easy grader! Easy HWs & EASY MIDTERM and a final.ECON1115 2020-04-10 16:40:19 +0000 UTC
Boring. Repeating textbook without giving good explanation or examples.ECON1115 2018-12-05 01:21:33 +0000 UTC
She clearly loves economics. A grad professor teaching an intro course is sure to be interesting, especially in a class of 40 instead of the usual 200 with Simon. Only 2 tests, fairly easy, and 3 short HWs all semester. Her lectures are dry and she basically flips through a PPT, but you can still learn well from herECON1115 2016-11-17 12:11:36 +0000 UTC
Professor Erten is a really sweet and enthusiastic person, it is evident she knows a lot about economics. However, her lectures can be a bit boring since she basically repeats everything from the textbook. You could easily not show up to class and not miss anything since she posts the slides online. She is an okay professor.ECON1115 2016-10-30 17:29:39 +0000 UTC
Interesting class. Grad professor teaching an intro Macro course was really cool and I learned a lot. She's a great teacher and obviously knows what she's talking about. A lot nicer to have her in a 49 person class rather than Simon in a 200 person lecture hall.ECON1115 2016-04-20 22:02:17 +0000 UTC
She over explains everything and her lectures drag. Often contradicts herself and then gets confused. Lots of extra credit and really easy tests. Most people I know got As without trying. I'm sure she's a wonderful person but she's not an effective professor. Stay away if you want to learn.ECON1115 2016-04-10 14:40:21 +0000 UTC
