The worst teacher I've ever had, good luck understanding what she's talking about, what her variables mean, and not getting clear answers, and her voice is just annoying, who knows where she learned to teach, probably community collegeECON2132 2013-02-01 10:37:24 +0000 UTC
She's nice, and I think she's genuinely willing to help, but the lectures are really unclear. The material itself isn't inherently difficult, but it's usually not presented in a way that makes much sense. I think if you try, the class is doable. Just make sure you read the book on your own time. However, not a professor I would recommend.ECON2315 2013-01-09 22:56:44 +0000 UTC
I never struggled in a class until I took this one. The professor sits in her chair all class and drones on with zero engagement. Ive been to every class and cant focus for more than 15 minutes shes so boring. I dont think shes taught me anything and ive come to just rely on the book for tests.ECON2316 2012-11-26 16:47:04 +0000 UTC
Took her for Macroeconomics theory. It was her first semester teaching, very hard grader and she couldnt explain the material properly. She tries, is just not a competent prof. Dont take this class, one midterm average was under 60%ECONMACR 2010-10-21 14:13:43 +0000 UTC
Material was interesting and challenging. Downfall is two-fold: poor teaching style that does not engage well with different kinds of students, and expectations of what should be known for tests are unclear. Hours will be spent studying for 2 midterms and a final, and you'll wonder why you even bothered after the tests are graded.ECON5120 2010-05-04 17:11:23 +0000 UTC
she killed my interests!MCRTHY 2010-03-21 15:54:50 +0000 UTC
No textbook! No explaination! No review!MACROTHRY 2010-03-19 00:38:23 +0000 UTC
Her course goes through a very holistic view of macro. She is always prepared for class. However, she tends to go quickly through material. Reading the textbook is essential as her questions on exams tend to come from there and the textbook elaborates on her powerpoint slides. She is not available for office hours.ECON2315 2012-12-08 22:47:19 +0000 UTC
She is a bad teacher, just got her PhD. She doesn't know how to teach but understands the material very well. For our midterm the average was like 55%, that's how hard her exams are. She shows genuine interest in the class, but the material she teaches is way too hard. Do yourself a favor and take Macro with prof. Simon and get a straight A.ECONMACR 2010-04-29 05:44:18 +0000 UTC
This class was impossibly hard. Steiger expects her students to have thorough background knowledge of the material. She is brilliant, and as a result, breezes through unbelievably challenging material. Nevertheless, I learned an great deal about macroeconomics, and am no longer afraid of the complex equations in scholarly articles.ECON5120 2010-04-26 22:11:13 +0000 UTC
I'd have to disagree with the numerous comments referring to her as brilliant. Anytime she is questioned she doesn't know how to respond and has trouble admitting when shes wrong. She often had to take our tests back to regrade them, as she had the answers to her own questions wrong. Class average was easily a failing grade...AVOID HERECON2315 2011-11-02 15:19:41 +0000 UTC
