Worst prof at neu. Inconsistent between syllabus, what is said in class, and her own emails. If you want to gain insight into content, grading, or even meeting with her, expect to be lied to and blamed arbitrarily. Professor Sternad has a clear enthusiasm for the topic, but the structure of this course makes it impossible to genuinely learn anything. We had 15-20 minute speaking exams with little to no rubric or feedback on what we did wrong. This was by far the worst course I've taken at Northeastern. Professor Sternad does not make the material clear, and when asked follow up questions dismissed students' concerns. Professor Sternad is not only well-known and highly respected in her academic field and by the university, but her enthusiasm for motor control is clear in her teaching. She wants a class of students who are excited to be there, willing to learn, and ready to engage in a well-informed discussion about motor control. An eccentric personality, but clearly passionate about what she does. She was so blown away by our class' group projects that she gave everyone a 100. Material is very heavy and dense, but informative and interesting. Watching lecture recordings is very helpful while doing Homework.
