best Orgo teacher ever! so happy that I have him for orgo 2 as well!. You don't need to go to class since its almost useless (unless you study beforehand you dont understand him) but you HAVE to solve the practice problems and sample tests. If you don't have enough time, dont read textbook. Just focus on the sample tests!CHEM1211 2010-12-22 09:48:02 +0000 UTC
Professor Forsyth was great! Orgo is a hard class no matter what but he was extremely helpful in his office hours and really just wants you to do well!CHM311 2009-09-15 21:36:20 +0000 UTC
this guy was way to hard and didnt provide any help at all. lectures were useless and i learned nothing. TAKE IYER I HAD HIM SECOND SEMESTER ORGANIC 2 AND I BASICALLY ORGO 1 AND 2 IN ONE SEMESTERCHMU311 2008-04-01 00:11:50 +0000 UTC
Forsyth is the most fair teacher in regards to tests. Do not assume he is easy, if you want an A, you still have to study. I personally did not get much out of going to class. I read the book, did the assigned problems, and then studied his practice tests. Had him for Orgo 1 and 2, got A's both semesters.CHMU212 2007-07-23 20:33:53 +0000 UTC
Always tying in current topics w/ real world. Sincerely wants you to do well. Tests are *very* thorough: if you don't know material cold, it'll show. He doesn't dumb it down. The subject is *hard*. Tests from lectures, so regular attendance makes the difference.CHMU313 2007-04-02 11:41:58 +0000 UTC
Absolutely the best orgo professor in the world. I was scared to death about orgo before I took his class, but the way he taught it made it the easiest course I took in the fall. Exams are just like the practice ones. Attend the lectures, read the book, study hard, and you'll get an A. Choose this professor for orgo if you can!CHEM311 2007-03-11 23:48:08 +0000 UTC
Even though he is the best of the three teachers, alot of the time it still seems as though he's speaking a different language during lecture. He usually writes really fast and draws his diagrams all over the place, so i'd suggest sitting near the front if you wanna be able to see anything. Also hardcore study the practice tests!ORGO1AND2 2006-04-04 14:33:04 +0000 UTC
you are crazy if you do not take this guy. he's the most amazing organic chem teacher in existance. no lie.ORGANICCHEM12 2005-06-21 12:13:16 +0000 UTC
Awesome. I loved this class after having dreaded it beforehand. He really knows how to teach this stuff. Alot more than I can say for my orgo 2 professor. If you can take a class with Forsyth, do it.ORGO1 2005-05-09 18:59:30 +0000 UTC
Great teacher, very fair. Best orgo teacher at Northestern with out a doubt. If you live with your book youll get an A.ORGO 2005-04-28 14:03:25 +0000 UTC
anyone taking orgo should sign up for forsyth. the tests in this class are soooo much easier than any other professors'.ORGO2 2005-04-17 17:29:20 +0000 UTC
Professor Forsyth is a really good teacher. Read before hand and he exams you DIRECTLY from the problems in the text. So make sure you do the problems and study. Orgo is obviously not easy, you gotta work for it and Forsyth out of all of them is the best i can say. Nice and fair. LeQuesne is awfulORGANICCHEM 2005-04-05 21:54:38 +0000 UTC
very very fair.sometimes boring in lecture.Read the chapter before class to know whats going on. Always willing to help out students.ORGANIC1AND2 2005-02-19 19:55:22 +0000 UTC
very nice guy, will help you with any problems. Organic is hard on its own though. Class ave's are high 60's to mid 70's. Each test has 110 points possible - grades out of 100.OCHEM1 2004-12-13 22:28:44 +0000 UTC
