He's a nice guy but the lectures had absolutely nothing to do with the exams and he's a harsh grader.FINA3401 2026-01-14 15:43:49 +0000 UTC
fina3303 is hard so dont take it. professor myers does make it better though hes hilarious and passionate. lectures are really interactive so be ready to get cold called but hes chill still. homeworks are manageable and easy but exam is SOOO difficult omg omg omg omg just dont take this course. he is chill thoughFIN3303 2025-04-19 03:00:41 +0000 UTC
Prof Myers is very caring and is passionate about sustainable investing. I did learn a lot in this class, though I don't feel it is widely applicable to the world of finance (at least not yet). He is a tough grader, and the course load was pretty heavy for a 2000 level class.FINA2720 2025-04-17 02:23:19 +0000 UTC
I rlly dont understand the hate with him--100% take him. I didn't mind about cold calling and attendance. great job explaining concepts, making it easy for me to practice questions at home and prep for the exams. 4 HWs + a few easy connect hws + 2 exams. Don't take his class if you sit in the back and not listen. HIGHLY REC THIS PROFFINA3303 2025-04-15 20:56:35 +0000 UTC
Overall nice professor. Everything is graded on a curve so he sometimes takes off points and can't explain why he took them off. If you go to office hours and show him that you are trying you will do well.fina2730 2025-01-14 14:58:21 +0000 UTC
One of the best professors i have had during my 4+ years at NEU. As a finance major, I appreciate professor Myers's teaching approach: he uses real-time data/ trends/ news in the homework which gives a great perspective on how to use what we learn to the real world. An expert in his field. Highly suggest taking any finance class with him!!!FINA4410 2020-08-17 02:02:01 +0000 UTC
Prof Myers is pretty straight forward. Midterm and final are easy if you understand the basic concepts he emphasizes in class. You will do well in this class if you attend office hours for the homework and practice the Connects before the midterm/finalFINA3301 2020-01-17 15:17:20 +0000 UTC
I'll start by saying that he is a very nice and smart man. However, he cannot teach for his life. He knows all of the course material very well (even if he doesn't make his own slides), but cannot convey it effectively at all. 100 minutes of his class feels like 300; he just drones on and on while not actually saying much. Would be wise to avoid.FINA2202 2018-04-24 15:01:33 +0000 UTC
I found his lectures engaging and entertaining he lets each student pick how they are being graded (weight) this course does not require that much: weekly connect hw, 4 large hw assignments, midterm, final he is a VERY hard grader so I would reccomend making tests your lowest weightFIN3303 2025-04-08 19:10:45 +0000 UTC
Myers assumes students already have sustainability/finance knowledge when students often don't have one or the other. Course content is fine but exams are 90% irrelevant to what he taught in class. He also lied to students about what will be on exam. HARD GRADER. Doesn't help review. If you don't need to take this class, save yourself the trouble.FINA2720 2023-12-12 09:00:34 +0000 UTC
Lectures were mostly conceptual and led by student participation (completely unrelated to the math-based homework) making exam prep difficult. This class might be a good overview if already very familiar with the topic but was confusing and not the best introductory course. That being said, Myers is a great guy who clearly cares about his students.FINA3303 2023-05-07 23:27:19 +0000 UTC
Not a lot of homework but you need to read the textbook in order to be prepared for the midterm and final. If you don't read the book you will be a little lost in class.FINA4410 2017-04-19 16:25:36 +0000 UTC
The final average of all his sections combined was a 64, so you be the judge? He doesn't make his own powerpoints and he makes really dumb jokes that he expects you to remember because he'll call on you randomly to finish them sometimes.FINA2202 2017-02-14 21:02:43 +0000 UTC
Best professor ever!FIN3303 2025-04-04 18:27:49 +0000 UTC
Myers makes up half of his material which makes it impossible to study outside of his subpar notes and unclear lectures. He assumes a level of financial savvy for all students in this class when it is an entry level class. He's a cool dude and very personable but needs to provide clearer lessons and instruction for the material that he designed.FINA2720 2022-06-28 14:33:12 +0000 UTC
