I echo several of the criticisms mentioned in other reviews. Professor Mengchao is kind and cares about her students, but consistently low class averages suggest structural issues. Don't listen to these reviews. I actually found her to be very nice and helpful. She goes through equations and problem walk throughs almost all class long which I find is the most important way to learn a math heavy topic. The other ratings are understandable. Mengchao is kind and caring but class avgs are low. If this is the only available section for corporate finance, take another section or save it for a different semester. Her slides are very informative, and FINA2201 had a lot of similarities to ACCT1201. Your grade is determined by 4 MCQ tests but you get a reference sheet. Minimal homework, but hw problems and class problems are very helpful for tests. Very nice professor!FINA2201 2025-06-27 18:08:33 +0000 UTC

My entire grade was based on 4, MCQ-only quizzes that were 15-20 questions in length. They had no curve. She is a very patient teacher with a sometimes hard-to-understand accent. Her lectures were extremely boring but not too difficult to understand. Your grade is based on basically 4 tests, one of them being the final. The tests during the semester weren't difficult, you're allowed a reference sheet. Very patient with student questions and will re-explain things as many times as you ask. Her accent can be hard to understand sometimes but that's really my only complaint.
