Prof Cortes is awesome. The class was tough (lots of tests, tons of practice problems, and a really fast pace) but honestly, I've learned more here than in any other class at Northeastern. The professor is extremely rude and disorganized. He would constantly go off the planned schedule and seemed chaotic. Would NEVER recommend him to any student who actually wants to learn. In just half semester, I learned more Python and Investments than in the previous two classes. It is amazing how he incorporates previous classes and helps us fil in the gaps. Get ready to learn with him, he is truly a gem. Best class and Best professor at the Business School. He is strict but fair and wants us to be technical. Amazing Class. I never expected to learn so much about Bitcoin. He offers a very clear perspective on the limitations and uses of crypto. The class is very stimulating. He clearly loves to teach. the class is test heavy (too many quizzes) but I agree with him. This helps the learning. As time gets closer and closer to the end of the semester, the knowledge would be more and more difficult. No assignments but there is a quiz at the beginning of the class. Absolutely loved Felipe Cortes. He hates memorization and will go through the intuition of every process and problem with you. Quizzes are hard but the class is graded on a heavy curve (Top 50% get at least an A-). Honestly a gem in the otherwise meh group of finance professors at Northeastern. Lectures are intense, but extremely informative. Jam-packed with real world examples. Really digs into the fundamentals of any concept. Will get into the finer details of anything he's talking about.
