I loved this class. I enjoyed having him as my 8 am over any of my other professors. His tests, while hard, are fully study-able. Use the connect to go over different versions of how a problem will be presented and you'll be okay. His lectures are hard to follow along but don't be afraid to ask what slide he's on!FINA2201 2025-12-14 17:48:56 +0000 UTC

I had Mazur as an online professor and I can say he was the worst professor I've had in college. Material was not challenging he was just a poor, unresponsive professor. Refused to meet in person for office hours because this was an online course even though he taught other classes on campus the same semester. Stay away, my friends agreeFINA1209 2015-04-21 22:23:43 +0000 UTC
Amazing professor! Go to class and you'll be fine. Extremely helpful and straight to the point. Skimming over the lecture/book the day before class will get you an A. Do some of the practice problems in the book, and make sure you can do the homework packets in your sleep (tests are based of them). Wish I could take him for all my finance classes.FINANCIALMGMT 2014-09-04 18:29:39 +0000 UTC
Actually the worst professor I have had the displeasure of having at Northeastern. If you havent taken other finance courses before, stay away. Be prepared to teach yourself, as he is an idiot. He will penalize you if you are a minute late, and will call you out in front of the class. He wants you to respect him, but he does not respect you,RUNFINA3301 2014-03-21 10:24:45 +0000 UTC
One of the worst professor of Northeastern.FINA6200 2013-12-27 17:41:28 +0000 UTC
Not the best teacher - very time consuming course with Aplia in addition to in text problems. Cumulative final exam (17 chps) worth 35% of final grade. Expect to teach yourself through Aplia/reading the text. He does not give real life examples nor does he outline the steps in complex formulas. Needless to say, RUN.FIN6200 2013-12-12 08:48:39 +0000 UTC
To the post below, last time I checked, finance was all about calculations... If you took Fin. Acct and thought that it was challenging, but manageable, then you should have no problem with finance. Jack is very helpful and gives many real life examples based on his past experiences. Class is straight forward and exams are easy.FIN 2013-04-25 00:14:03 +0000 UTC
best teacher ever!very helpful n also very hardworking.i learnt a lot in his class.FINA01 2011-08-25 16:55:02 +0000 UTC
Mazur is a nice and helpful guy. His lecturs are easy to understand and most of everything that he covers in class will be on exam. Plus, he really is passionated about finace so, overall, he did a great job teaching this class.FINAN2 2011-08-18 12:03:55 +0000 UTC
nothing to do during the class, but! every exam is out of class (Aplia), and spoken at the class(not related the text). Additionally, very hard exam :( He is AWFUL!!!. He uses hard voca at the tests.FIN301 2010-04-29 00:46:12 +0000 UTC
Class is not too bad, tests are like the homeworks, but the final was the exact opposite of what he said it would be. He is VERY strict about attendance and people coming late, gets very offended & takes it personal, and stops class just to write down who was late. Is very, very boring, esp at 8AM on tues/fri. Does not explain concepts clearly.FINU201 2007-05-08 14:49:02 +0000 UTC
He really sucks at teaching, but he means well. Loves questions but is terrible at directing class- chalkboard notes are terrible. always talks about his regrets and mistakes, kiiiinda awkward. baby step teacher. boring.FIN201 2007-02-15 10:59:04 +0000 UTC
He was a fairly easy professor, his tests and homework assignments were out of high school...a question with a,b,c,d answer. Homework is pretty much the same as the test. You need a textbook, gets kind of angry if people don't read or bring it. Over all he is a fairly easy professor...4 test, 4 hws, a virtual stock mkt project, and a group project.INV301 2006-11-07 15:04:10 +0000 UTC
He's an ok professor, nice guy but tries to be tough sometimes. VERY strict attendence policy and sticks to it. Goes over everything in class, and homework is easy with the use of the textbook, but he makes the exams more difficult. Not tooooo bad of a professor, but not an easy A either. DEF ask questions if you need to, otherwise, you'll be lost!FINAN201 2006-08-17 13:37:35 +0000 UTC
