The professor is creative with projects, but understanding him is difficult since English isn't his first language (he mainly speaks Chinese). class was not very helpful and also difficult to understand but still had mandatory attendance. Also required participation which is a bummer. one group project which was pretty easy, and 2 midterms. He is the worst professor I have ever got in my life. Do not take any subject that he is teaching unless you wanna fail. I had Professor Chiou for Investments and he is a great professor that brings in real world events to teach and keep you informed. If you utilize office hours, ask meaningful questions, and show interest, he will go the extra mile to help you. Group projects are straightforward. You cant understand a single thing he says, he is evasive and unhelpful every which way, and when you come to him for help he only tells you to either sleep less and study more. Even with my full attention I cannot understand 1/2 of the words he says. VERY hard to understand which makes him a pretty bad teacher. I'm only one week into the class but I already know it will be challenging due to his accent and my lack of interest in finance. From what I can understand, for the tests I should just read the book. He does not grade fairly, does not explain his rationale for grades, and does not show any understanding of the course content or willingness to support students both in and outside the classroom.
