Lectures are mandatory but irrelevant. He loves to talk about his old job at Bose- he should probably stay there for everyone's sake. He's reachable and knowledgeable, but a questionable teacher. Nace is very passionate and a nice guy, however, his grading and stance on GPA is pretty bad. He believes it does not matter but in reality it really does. Teaching wise, he is very good and once you leave the semester you will have a strong understanding of marketing. Participation is really important and he ends up rewarding those who come to class by rounding their grades. The final was insanely difficult for no reason though. Overall you'll learn a lot but he does make an intro class a lot harder than it needs to be. Prof nace is a nice guy but not a good teacher. His quizzes aren't THAT bad, but his final was crazy hard and everyone ik bombed it. Also, he grades harshly on the paper and in general, so A's are rare. Basically no HW tho. passionate guy who tries his best to keep lectures engaging by encouraging class participation. He writes his own tests and quizzes, which are pretty hard as you can study for hours on end, but the quiz will be on something else entirely. I absolutely loved this professor. He's incredibly engaging—his lectures are so interesting I don't even need my laptop. The lectures are very conversational which I enjoy, and he truly encourages you to ask questions and won't make you feel dumb. He's also super personable and easy to connect with. Professor Nace is very passionate about the field of marketing, and his lectures are engaging at times. People are overreacting about the difficulty of the course. Prof Nace is really nice and laid back and is definitely funny at times, but his class had lots of reading, lectures werent actually lectures they were discussions which felt like you were teaching for him. they were unhelpful so i stopped coming to class. Class is hard for no reason. It's an entry-level class, and it shouldn't be this hard. Nobody is getting an A in my class. He also says he will keep the average grade around B and curve down if the average is higher than B.
