The worst thing about this class is that stupid Bike simulation you have to do your entire semester and if you get a bad group, you are done for as that is already like 25% of your grade especially the summaries. The HW isn't too bad and defiently look at his feedback to get a higher score on the next one. The entire class is so lecture heav.MGKT2201 2025-12-17 03:29:21 +0000 UTC
Very, very strict on attendance (3 strikes you're out kinda thing.. beware). Not much HW, but very strict on grading (you must thoroughly incorporate his feedback). Open-note exams- lots of flexibility with how you answer which is good. Class is lecture heavy but relatively engaging, participation matters (easy to participate). Teacher is solid.MKTG2201 2025-12-12 21:57:04 +0000 UTC
Professor DePaoli's class was incredibly valuable for anyone interested in digital marketing. We earned HubSpot and Google Analytics certifications and worked on real-world projects like running paid ads and managing a social media page. Highly recommend for those entering the field!MKTG4508 2025-05-02 05:40:49 +0000 UTC
DePaoli is a legend. One of the best professors that I have had at Northeastern. He is very funny and witty. We stan. His class lectures are very interactive and heavily relate to the world. He is very receptive to students' thoughts and opinions (coursework, lecture style, topics to discuss, etc.). You SHOULD DEFINITELY TAKE HIM for 2201/2202MKTG2202 2020-05-13 16:05:03 +0000 UTC
Overall a good class, good prof. Tons of cases but he will make them shorter. On that note, he is really good about asking how to improve the course throughout. One big group project/ business plan, but easier than most other Business class projects. Tough grader, but a really easy B, a little harder to get an A. Would take again.MKTG3301 2019-12-04 18:48:47 +0000 UTC
STAY AWAY!!!!!!! HE WILL RUIN YOUR GPA! I have an A in every single class EXCEPT his! RUN FOR THE HILLS!! HIS TESTS ARE STUPID! HIS HOMEWORK IS GRADED 1-4 but NOBODY get above 3/4 Automatic 75MGKT2201 2025-12-12 02:01:31 +0000 UTC
Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about marketing! His lectures were almost always entertaining and he always laid out what you needed to do well on quizzes and projects.MKTG2201 2025-11-22 01:04:32 +0000 UTC
Alex doesn't give any direction on how he wants case studies and assignments done. He has TA grade cases which he should probably be grading himself. Super hard grader.MKTG4508 2024-02-14 16:21:17 +0000 UTC
STAY AWAY. I don't get why there are so many good reviews, perhaps these are only for his intro to marketing courses. I took his class for MKTG3301, and I wish I didn't. His grading is unfair. Even if you participate lots and work hard in his class, it doesn't matter. Prof. seems to take joy in students' pain and none in their success.MKTG3301 2019-10-25 01:11:47 +0000 UTC
I think he acts the way he does to overcompensate for being short and not getting a bid in collegeMGKT2201 2025-04-28 19:03:47 +0000 UTC
Great professor and great guy. I don't understand the bad reviews he's a great dude and I learned a ton in the class. He grades a bit harsh but it's chill.MKTG2201 2025-11-21 23:34:58 +0000 UTC
Very strict grader without good reason, knocks points off for unexcused absences, and is sadistic in my opinion. I always work to improve but rarely scored anything but a 4/5 on all outside-of-class assignments. He expects you to do so much more than what the assignment says to do & doesn't give points back once he made his decision. Avoid taking!MKTG4508 2023-02-24 20:46:03 +0000 UTC
This man is straight up evil, no words. Run for the hills, run, he ruined my gpa. I have never ended a class with a C. Got a perfect score on the final but ended with a C bc of attendance? Avoid, he is also super nit-picky.MGKT2201 2025-04-28 19:02:05 +0000 UTC
Professor understands the concepts very well and is very good at explaining them although he does so with slight arrogance. I spent little time outside of class reading the textbook or my notes. Tests are online and open book and are not very difficult except there is not a lot of time. Homework's are easy if you put a bit of effort in them.MKTG2201 2024-01-11 16:12:01 +0000 UTC
Agree that this professor is incredibly sadistic. He will take an incredible amount of points off for things you DID complete, solely because he didn't open the attachment you submitted. He is a poor representation of the university and deserves to be severely audited as his grading practice is frankly ridiculous. Save yourself and don't take him.MKTG4508 2022-04-28 04:59:49 +0000 UTC
