Honestly, run. I was forced to take this class because I need it to graduate soon and it was the only asynchronous section available. For an ONLINE & asynchronous section, he makes it too much work. 1/2 the work you do is practically useless. P.s. most of the reviews below seem fake. Good luck, and i hope you take this as a warning.MKTG2201 2025-12-12 22:50:15 +0000 UTC
Professor Fombelle is a knowledgeable instructor who knows how to lecture very effectively. He ties his lecture slides into real-world examples and all slides are made by him. He cares about attendance and will call you out for showing up late, but he means very well and cares for all of his students (especially those who show up ready to learn).2201 2025-12-03 17:31:50 +0000 UTC
He definitely expects participation and is very respected in his field. He has lots of real world advice he uses during his lectures which I love.1101 2025-10-10 19:55:12 +0000 UTC
Paul is a really nice prof. I took his course twice, both MKTG2201 and MKTG4502. He is very kind and friendly, and especially fun. The course is kind of hard but I definitely learned a lot and enjoy taking this course.MKTG4502 2022-05-08 19:58:08 +0000 UTC
Paul Is a great professor. He gives a lot of homework, but the homework makes sense. The syllabus looks intimidating but the work is really manageable. He is also very helpful and will be willing to meet with you outside of class. He makes real world connections to the material and class feels more coproduced as oppose to be lectured atMKTG6218 2019-12-03 02:27:39 +0000 UTC
Bad? I'm not saying he's a bad teacher. I'm sure he's very good in doing his work but he's very rude and impolite!!! He doesn't respect his students at all. I was so scared when I was in class with him because he was always making jokes about students and treating everyone very badly. Someone liked him; the majority of us don't!6812 2015-04-20 21:35:49 +0000 UTC
This class is the reason I switched my major to marketing, class is never boring, he is honestly a very fair grader, values creativity for projects and just overall effort. Make sure you pick a good group for the projects as its the key to success. I would take this again in a heartbeat make sure to read theres easy pop quizzes when he feels likeitMKTG2201 2025-11-21 20:14:26 +0000 UTC
Has a passion for what he's teaching, which really comes through in his lectures, and a good sense of humor. Read textbook and engage in class, and you will do well. Tests were all mcq so as long as you read they're easy. Not much graded homework other than group project. Fombelle made 2201 my favorite class of the semester, would take him again!2201 2025-04-30 16:48:19 +0000 UTC
Paul is such a nice guy, but the asynch marketing class was weirdly semi hard. It's not hard to do well, but don't take this class thinking you'll get an easy A because it's intro level. TA grades HW and there are only 3 pretty heft/hard tests. Watch lectures, REALLY read the textbook, try your best on the simulation, and ur all good.1101 2024-12-04 23:22:00 +0000 UTC
Professor Fombelle is the best professor at Northeastern. He cares about his students. Getting an A in this class is difficult, but you will learn more in it than with any other professor. He has high expectations for his students, but matches that with high expectations of his own teaching ability. Take this course, you won't regret it.MKTG4502 2022-05-02 23:03:17 +0000 UTC
Paul's lectures were very interesting to say the least. His tone and jokes are pretty entertaining which got me engaged. He can seem arrogant or judgmental to some, but I enjoyed watching lectures and thought his approach was unique and funny. Class comes with a lot of material to remember though, so make sure you're studying for those tests.MKTG2201 2025-08-12 20:13:47 +0000 UTC
His lectures were very interesting and you can tell he likes what he's teaching. He does have a bit of an ego but he is funny. Attendance is very mandatory and you really have to take notes on the textbook to do well on tests. He didn't allow any laptops/ipads in class but it was honestly fine. Workload was very manageable too.2201 2025-04-22 23:43:12 +0000 UTC
The in-class participation is really ridiculous. The presentation is hard to get higher than B+.1101 2014-12-10 05:28:14 +0000 UTC
Warning: This class will change you forever. You will become very intolerable of any bad service / marketing, become an expert complainer to service providers, and always judging how much companies couldve done better. You can never turn it off. And hes not sorry about it.MKTG4502 2019-12-12 01:24:41 +0000 UTC
If you're taking this class because you think it's asynchronous and easy, then avoid it. Takes a good amount of time and effort, but relatively easy. TA grades most of the work.MKTG2201 2025-05-14 22:26:55 +0000 UTC
