Prof Ray is a really great person, but her lectures are jumbled all over the place. If you are taking over the summer, her exams are all online - 3 midterms and a final. Attendance was not mandatory. Dr. Ray is an exceptional professor. She is passionate about teaching and appreciates student feedback. Course is organized and thoughtful. (BIO 4707) Highly organized, posts slides and recordings from every lecture online, weekly announcements on canvas about what is coming up and what we should be working on. Textbook is just supplemental. Passionate about the subject matter. Works in discussion about assays applicable to bio careers. She is the sweetest person ever, but her lectures are SO boring and get confusing quickly. I would go in knowing information, but would feel completely lost by the end of lecture. Her explanations were all over the place. Her exams were worded weirdly, which made them more challenging. She's a very caring teacher that makes it clear to see that she puts effort into helping each and every one of her students have access to resources and know how to manage their workload. Dr. Ray is extremely kind and caring professor. She is easy to reach outside of class and wants to see you succeed. She goes through lecture material quickly but is happy to answer questions. The best class I've taken so far. Her teaching style is like story-telling that is very easy to follow along. Lecture slides are very organized and she lets you know exactly what will be on the exam. I'd give her a higher rating but her lectures felt unorganized. Sometimes she would have information on the slide and say something else. Despite the study guides for the exams, I didn't know what examples I had to remember. I am sure she is a great teacher in other courses.
