Really nice professor with pretty straightforward expectations. Took the summer section so it was fast-paced and lecture heavy (sometimes boring lectures), but he made sure that we all knew what we were going to be tested on. Was very flexible and willing to explain things if we didn't understand, and the exams were very similar to the practice.CHEM1161 2026-06-19 17:31:43 +0000 UTC
The sweetest prof and super accommodatingCHEM 2026-05-31 21:15:28 +0000 UTC
He is very laid-back and flexible with deadlines, which can be helpful. Lectures are not very engaging, so reviewing material outside of class is recommended. Exams are straightforward if you study the practice questions. For labs, keep your data organized since everything is collected at the end. I would take his class again.CHEM1101 2025-12-19 17:59:44 +0000 UTC
He is wonderful! Take his course.121101 2025-12-16 22:39:16 +0000 UTC
my goat! great lab prof for chem 1161. it was easy to make up labs if missed, and nothing was graded harshly. please laugh at his jokes.CHEM1162 2025-12-14 02:53:39 +0000 UTC
Chemistry 1102 lab is so easy. Very enjoyable nothing about it is hard. The TAs are super kind and helpful. Labs are straightforward. Lab reports are very very easy and are not graded harshly at all. Best science lab by far.CHM1012 2025-12-11 19:27:32 +0000 UTC
He is so cute. Super sweet guy and he is hilarious (please laugh at his jokes they are amazing). Exams are exactly what he tells you, no tricks, topics on Achieve Homeworks are what is on the exams. Homeworks are based off completion and are weighted more than the exams. He gives lots of practice exams/material and can easily prepare for the exams.CHEM1011 2025-12-11 19:24:24 +0000 UTC
Super nice professor. He just reads off the slides during the lectures, but if you take notes and review after class the exams should be easy.CHEM1211 2025-01-09 14:39:33 +0000 UTC
Always willing to explain but very disorganized. At midterm, was 1.5 chapters behind so weren't tested on the first 5 chapters, caught up a bit but still missed entire chapter for final and self-teach. Changes deadlines constantly. Easy to succeed for entry-level class, but would've been very difficult for more challenging upper-level coursework.CHM1100 2023-06-07 13:14:11 +0000 UTC
Really nice guy who is very willing to help you out. Funny and easygoing.GENCHEM1 2020-04-23 16:03:45 +0000 UTC
This class is 100% lectures and it was extremely difficult for me to understand Prof. Witten's lectures, so I ended up teaching myself pretty much everything. Hilarious guy, not the best at teaching but pretty solid gen chem 2 option.CHEM1214 2018-04-27 17:03:12 +0000 UTC
He is a great professor that I would ever have. He makes corny jokes and he provides practice midterm exam (which is similar to midterm exam and final). He also provides the student to write a paper anything in particular (chem topic) to boost grade up. I would recommend this professor to a friend.CHM2020 2016-06-03 17:44:56 +0000 UTC
Great teacher, straightforward. Practice exams basically the same as real exams. Put in some effort, get an A.CHM1011 2016-05-02 23:00:13 +0000 UTC
I cannot say enough about this professor - His teaching style is straightforward and he provides handouts, practice questions and exams which prepare one very well for tests. If one does the work there every opportunity to get an A. Extremely flexible with homework, extra help and test taking. Did I mention his sense of humor...pricelessCHEM2015 2011-07-02 21:55:33 +0000 UTC
HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! His class is the one class that I always look forward to, it is so much fun so much chemistry! Makes the class very entertainaing and easy. If you don't get an A its your fault.CHEMC121 2011-03-08 21:34:38 +0000 UTC
