by far the smartest professor in the biology department. in addition, he's brilliant at lecturing. it's a shame I wasn't able to take him for other classesBIOL2301 2019-12-31 02:05:12 +0000 UTC
The class is tough, and I didn't feel like I was being helped when I went to office hours multiple times with himBIOL2301 2019-01-30 15:48:57 +0000 UTC
Eric Stewart would probably be a great professor in a small setting, but having him for a 300 person lecture hall class was tough. The class was VERY dense and the exams were very difficult. You can succeed, but you'll need a strong work ethic to study regularly, not just before exams. Try and take this class in a small setting if you can.BIOL2301 2018-11-14 11:14:59 +0000 UTC
He is a nice guy and I appreciated how approachable he was. However, his tests were TOUGH. Beware, take really good note and be prepared to watch a lot of Tegrity.BIOL2301 2018-09-01 16:47:05 +0000 UTC
The final is cumulative, but the lowest midterm exam is dropped. All grades come from exams and TopHat. Lectures are interesting and don't move too fast. Weekly in class quizzes that are 1 question and come from assigned practice problems, but most people don't do the practice and just look up answers online. Not a difficult class if you try.BIOL2301 2018-03-28 15:43:34 +0000 UTC
Professor Eric Stewart is really interesting. His lectures are kind of boring, but they're informative. You need to use TopHat since he asks about 4+ questions throughout the class, so you can't skip. He's got corny dad jokes and he's really cool. Tests are pretty comprehensive and tough but enough studying and you should be fine! A good class!BIOL2301 2017-04-24 19:53:19 +0000 UTC
Awesome and knowledgeable.BIOL2301 2016-12-07 13:50:09 +0000 UTC

Best teacher I have had at northeasternBIOL2301 2016-06-09 15:33:47 +0000 UTC
Great teacher, but you need to have a baseline amount of integrity and motivation (aka not a frat boy) in order to do wellBIOL2301 2016-05-17 15:49:35 +0000 UTC
Prof Stewart was the absolute best! His slides were so clear, you don't even need the textbook! His lecturing made even the hardest subjects understandable. his quick wit and jokes made him one of my fav professors! Questions on tests involve critical thinking but the best prof for genetics! Highly recommend the class and would surely take againBIOL2301 2016-05-02 18:52:46 +0000 UTC
Excellent professor. If you've taken AP bio, the first few weeks of class are pretty much review, but don't let that fool you. You should be fine though if you pay attention to lectures and do the assigned problems. The review sessions before each exam can be pretty helpful.BIOL2301 2016-04-15 16:07:29 +0000 UTC
Interesting, clear lectures - will take the time to explain topics to you and genuinely seems to want everyone to pass the class. Gives practice exams and review sessions before exams (which are all multiple choice). If you pay attention and review the lectures, you should have no problem in the class.BIOL2301 2016-03-26 16:36:01 +0000 UTC
LOVE Stewart. Lecture slides are crystal clear and always put online. Come to class; material is sometimes tricky and you don't want to miss his dad jokes, plus he uses TopHat for attendance. Don't be fooled by how easy the material can seem; his exams are tough. Highly recommend.BIOL2301 2015-12-03 11:26:20 +0000 UTC
Great professor, great class. Stewart is concise, knowledgable, approachable, not to mention kind of adorable with a quirky uncle sense of humor. The class itself is very interesting and he gives lots of examples that help clarify the material. Participation is key as he gives simple but graded concept questions during class. Def recommended.BIOL2301 2015-11-12 10:42:27 +0000 UTC
