Professor Henry is a very smart guy. He is nice and definitely cares for his students (nice curves). With that said, he is not the most experienced professor. I honestly wish attendance was mandatory cause I found it so easy to skip (along with most of the class) which had poor repercussions on my grade. Joe may come off very stern, but he actually really cares for his students' learning which is why theres so many assignments. He tries his best to get everyone engaged and learn, but many students just don't care enough to try. Definitely a very dense course but valuable info. Honestly, Joe is the most boring professors I have taken yet. I was in his 8am section but I heard that his 5pm section has just as many students attending, if not less. He usually just sits down and reads off of slides monotonously and whenever I do go to class, I end up regretting it. I've learned more in 2201 than any other finance class, and Prof Henry goes out of his way to help you if you put in the work he expects. Grading is tough but fair, you have to read the whole question and round correctly, but he shows you exactly how to do it in Excel. Terrible lectures, seems like a chill professor initially but his lectures are awful and you just look at excel for the entire class, does not explain things and gets annoyed when asked to go over questions. Great professor. He really takes feedback to heart and adjusts his class accordingly. You do a lot of group projects, but they're not too bad and a great way to learn. No tests and minimal quizzes. Wouldn't take class again, tough tests, homework harshly graded and doesn't really help during office hours or seem engaged with students during lecture.Should probably make class more interesting since half of the class is asleep or doesn't show up. Nothing special about his class, had bland powerpoint and goes through the information during class very basic. However, BEWARE of his tests. He won't tell you this till the morning of but he makes all students turn around in their seats and face the back wall so he can see your screens during exams.
