This is definitely the hardest corporate finance section. Harsh grading, lots of homework, and lecture-heavy. Overall, repetitive and mundane classes and constant graded assignments.FINA3301 2026-02-18 04:43:04 +0000 UTC
Professor Henry is a very smart guy. He is nice and definitely cares for his students (nice curves). With that said, he is not the most experienced professor. I honestly wish attendance was mandatory cause I found it so easy to skip (along with most of the class) which had poor repercussions on my grade. I would recommend but read and go to class.2201 2025-04-28 04:22:53 +0000 UTC
Participation really matters and u could get a lots of extra credits if u participate, case studies were pretty easy and interesting, midterm and finals are really easy if u listen to the lectureFINA3301 2026-01-12 10:38:04 +0000 UTC
no slides or book at all, just monotone talking. mid term class average was 14% and then he curved grades down instead of up, SO unfair2201 2024-04-15 20:00:08 +0000 UTC
Participation points are very fair and achievable. Office hours are very helpful. The case studies are really interesting andtaught me a lot.FINA3301 2025-12-14 23:09:44 +0000 UTC
Worst professor ever!! The average on the midterm was only 27/100 with no curve.2201 2024-04-15 01:25:46 +0000 UTC
Definitely a homework heavy course, which was nice if you don't test well/ have time to devote to these assignments. Prof is easy to reach outside of class and wants to answer questions so students produce their best workFINA3301 2025-12-13 21:20:22 +0000 UTC
I've learned more in 2201 than any other finance class, and Prof Henry goes out of his way to help you if you put in the work he expects. Grading is tough but fair, you have to read the whole question and round correctly, but he shows you exactly how to do it in Excel. Also he curves to like an 80, no idea why others think it's lower2201 2024-03-23 19:07:26 +0000 UTC
every class is just lecture lecture lecture. he seems smart and that he knows what he's doing. he's open to discuss differing opinions. if you know finance the class is probably easy, if you don't, it's very hard. he curves a lot and is reasonable on grading. no one comes to class because it's optional. if you try, you'll get a decent gradeFINA3301 2025-12-11 20:03:54 +0000 UTC
Terrible lectures, seems like a chill professor initially but his lectures are awful and you just look at excel for the entire class, does not explain things and gets annoyed when asked to go over questions. No practice material given for exams, was forced to curve the midterm because the average was a 52 and only brought the average up to a 58.2201 2024-03-18 13:56:11 +0000 UTC
I was honestly really scared to take his class due to his reviews, but it's not a bad class at all. Start participating early in the semester, as it will build the courage for the rest of the class. Go to his office hours, start the group case studies a week early, attend every class, and you will seriously be fine.FINA3301 2025-05-05 22:38:00 +0000 UTC
Wouldn't take class again, tough tests, homework harshly graded and doesn't really help during office hours or seem engaged with students during lecture.Should probably make class more interesting since half of the class is asleep or doesn't show up. Is a nice guy just doesn't make lectures interesting or truly care to help students succeed, sadly.2201 2024-02-12 02:55:26 +0000 UTC
Very knowledgeable and passionate professor, clearly enjoys teaching the subject. Had a no-judgement environment and was very open to questions, and considered points carefully before answering completelyFINA3301 2025-04-29 20:44:46 +0000 UTC
Nothing special about his class, had bland powerpoint and goes through the information during class very basic. However, BEWARE of his tests. He won't tell you this till the morning of but he makes all students turn around in their seats and face the back wall so he can see your screens during exams. Very tough grader, curves by only 2 points max.2201 2024-02-12 02:49:43 +0000 UTC
I believe he did a great job at teaching us the technical aspects of Corporate Finance. Building a Discounted Cash Flow Analysis, calculating Net Present Value. Also extremely helpful and beneficial office hours for me within the course. He did a great job teaching and helping those who came to him.FINA3301 2025-04-16 18:44:05 +0000 UTC
