Professor DeWalt was really great in how she ran Cell Bio. The textbook that was given is a bit heavy and you'll be reading a lot every week, but the assignments and tests are very straightforward. Gloria really cares about the students. She wants you to learn the material and not just memorize it. She provides detailed notes along with the lecture slides and makes sure to highlight key points that will be on the test. She's actually a pretty good teacher. She knows a lot, slides are super clear and she shows interesting videos in class. Unlike other professors I have had, she actually is nice too and she answers people's questions without making them feel stupid. Professor Gloria was a good teacher. Worth taking a class with her if you can. Go to her office hour! (she can meet with you different times if her office hours don't work). She's a tough but fair grader. I really cant say enough good things about Professor DeWalt. The best instructor I have had in a long time. She really cares about her students and works to make sure everyone understands the material and engage with each other even without being in-person. Highly recommend any class with her.
