He's a great guy, but a really boring professor. Your grade is dependent on a very few select tests, and the class itself seems to drag on with little merit. It's not a time-consuming class at all, but you have to memorize pointless information in order to pass. I earned better grades when I studied the slides on my own and didn't go to class!ECON1281 2021-12-20 20:39:02 +0000 UTC
He's a good guy. Dry sense of humor and mostly reads from the slides, but he's fine. I've had much worse.ECON3440 2016-11-21 11:10:28 +0000 UTC
Great Prof.ECNU116 2016-11-17 08:00:19 +0000 UTC
Good professor, knows a lot about the economics of art and culture. Though he is a hard grader, if you prove to him that you are trying, he will give you a decent grade. Does try to crack some jokes, to wake you up in the morning.ECNU281 2008-05-01 18:44:59 +0000 UTC
Boring subject, nice guy...I just fall asleep at least ten times a class and don't really understand the material. He does know Greg Mankiw, the writer of the text book. Makes jokes, but they're hard to laugh at because his tone doesn't change from when he's being serious. Nice guy, though.MICROECONOMICS 2005-09-15 23:48:39 +0000 UTC
A genuinely good person and I liked him alot. He was always very helpful, even after I graduated. He's an effective teacher and I got alot out of his classes. One of the professors I always visit when I'm in Boston.ECN460 2005-07-15 07:04:34 +0000 UTC

Nice guy. Really cares about economics of arts and culture. Boring. Reads from slides. Zero interaction with class. Very tough grader. You get 99% of it but forget one very minor detail hell take points off.ECON1281 2021-04-21 03:42:00 +0000 UTC
Worst professor I've ever taken at NEU. Lectures for 100 minutes straight with ZERO interaction from the class. There are 3 HW assignments and 3 exams, all of which are mainly quantitative yet he NEVER teaches quantitative material in class, only theory. It's absurd. Worst class. Do NOT take any course with him. Beyond boring.ECON3440 2015-11-19 16:19:17 +0000 UTC
Very good professor. He tries his very best to help his students do well and works to help you understand the subject. Be prepared to work a lot. the subject is difficult but as long as you do your work and study, you should be fine.ECNU116 2005-12-11 00:52:27 +0000 UTC
A lesson: Don't take a professor teaching a class in their area of professional research (in this case, Econ of Art and Culture). Tends to bog down in specifics, and he's a tough grader. Should be better for Micro or Macro; he's a funny guy, just don't take him in the morning.ECNU281 2004-12-07 01:42:28 +0000 UTC
