Just a lot of really boring lectures. High school chem got me through this course and I never have to do chem again so it wasn't awful, but if you're someone who really doesn't understand chem or wants to learn chem, she's not the best. Dr Sayre is knowledgeable about chemistry but is not a great teacher. She has repetitive lectures and struggles to answer questions sometimes. The worst teacher I have had in all my years of schooling. She seems smart but has absolutely no idea how to effectively communicate her ideas to students. The most boring lectures you could possibly attend. She was so unprepared for the final that half the room got finals while the other half had to wait for her to print more. I have taken two chemistry classes in the past, and this was by far the worst one I've taken. I know that this is their first time teaching an actual chem lecture this semester, but it was just not good. The tests were 10x harder than anything we did in class. The lectures are PowerPoint heavy and topics are often rushed through, with her vaguely answering questions or simply saying she'll address them later which she rarely does. No matter how good my day was going, Professor Sayre never failed to make me feel sad and depressed after her class. She was unable to answer any questions we had about the material, and the lectures were useless, as she used no examples and barely even explained the equations needed for the problems we had to do. Sooo boring, lectures aren't helpful. It's her first year teaching and you can tell. If you ask a question she'll just give you a super vague response. Student's have had to correct her multiple times. Lectures were all over the place, jumped from one topic to another randomly. She was not very good at answering questions in lecture either. Probably because it was her first time teaching it so she'll likely get better with time. No practice exams, homework and quiz questions were unrelated many times. Honestly one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Classes consisted of her reading off of lecture slides. She could not confidently answer any questions that students had as if she did not know herself. Just had an overall terrible attitude and did not listen to feedback.
