Really enjoyed this class. Professor Platt is a really nice guy, and really is an expert in his field. He gives many readings to read ahead of class, but it is totally worth it. Don't expect to get an A if you're not going to put the effort. AMAZING (both the teacher and class) He is an expert in his field and has so many amazing guest speakers come to talk to us (including a former C-suite exec at google). He is genuinely passionate, has tons of relevant experience, and teaches a lot. Lectures can be very information-heavy but it's a gem of a class. There is an exceptional amount of work required in a very short period of time, even though the program I am in was supposedly designed for working professionals. The work is unrealistic, as he assumes that you should be able to complete financial calculations even when there is missing information. Horrible finance professor. Fast paced economics class with a lot of information for 5 weeks. 70% of the grade is split between the early and late exams with weekly postings accounting for the remaining 30%. Therefore, it is important that you study the material on canvas to do well in this class. Exam are very straightforward and not too difficult. I have taken two classes with him he is absolutely the worst professor you will take at NEU. If you do the homework assignments and study you will find it to be very rewarding and learn a lot. He is awesome.
