Take Michael Stone or call it a day tbh. To be applying to CS coops and have this class be the one that brings down your GPA is awfulECON1116 2018-10-05 11:06:03 +0000 UTC
Little to no passion to their teachingECON1291 2018-04-16 04:09:08 +0000 UTC
Not a stable class. What this professor decides to put on the next exam varies and is unpredictable.MICRO1116 2015-12-15 19:42:43 +0000 UTC
Although she cared about the topic, Jelena was not good at making classes at all intriguing or interesting. They were brutal tests in patience, and usually there was more confusion than anything else by the end of class. She makes what should be a simple class difficult to fully comprehend, even with prior econ experience.ECON1116 2018-08-09 12:21:39 +0000 UTC
Avoid her! I took her and ended up failing the course. I have gotten A's for most of courses till now and she really messed up my GPA bad. Her exams very super HARD!!! and out of the blue. In our exams the average used to be 55-68 on 100. So avoid her!ECON1291 2018-04-12 17:21:13 +0000 UTC
This professor started off as very specific and showed care for her students. As the semester went on, she "all of a sudden" changed her structure, which is now poor. I did not benefit from this course as soon as the course structure was "noticeably" changed. Students feel no where prepared considering what's expected of our class changes weekly.MICRO1116 2015-12-15 19:35:09 +0000 UTC
Absolute worst professor I've had yet. The material isn't hard, but the tests are all "gotcha" questions and her teaching skills are nowhere to be seen. Get ready to read the hell out of the textbook and pray you can differentiate between two identical questions, since she doesn't curve anything and doesn't teach either. Avoid at all costs.ECON1116 2016-05-02 11:39:13 +0000 UTC
I don't understand all the negative reviews! She is very understanding and explains concepts well, but the trick to the test is reading the textbook and articles. If you simply read and memorize simple case studies about countries and use her study checklist, it's an easy A. Takes attendance but doesnt count HW or participation/attendance in grade.ECON1291 2018-03-21 20:38:17 +0000 UTC
For a prereq class, she is the worst! Totally boring/monotonous voice, takes EVERYTHING from the online textbook and makes the tests insanely confusing!! Microeconomics is not hard, but leave it to her to make you fee like an idiot. She doesn't seem enthusiastic about teaching the course either. No motivation n her part no motivation on my part.ECON1116 2016-04-07 02:19:30 +0000 UTC
I had her for Development ECON a 1000 level course and she was soo bad that I had to drop it. Her exams come out of the blue and really make it hard to score. Our class averages were really low (around 55%). Please do not take her if you have the chance. She is the only reason I dropped the class.ECON1291 2018-02-28 11:33:37 +0000 UTC
Jelena is the useless professor. The wordings in tests are so confusing that it is really hard to get a good grade. The material is not that hard but it is easy to fail on the tests. Better try to look for another professor.ECON1116 2016-03-02 11:14:16 +0000 UTC
no clear grading standard at all. not engage students to learn.ECON1291 2017-12-14 02:36:59 +0000 UTC
Very good professor! Very fair! If you study, you will pass! She is always is on time and ready to go! Take her!ECON1116 2016-01-19 00:23:30 +0000 UTC
Her tests have very few questions so if you miss one thing it's already a 93% which is really annoying. She is very knowledgable and excited but since it's a prereq class most people don't really care and she can sometimes get frustrated with that. She likes to talk with the Powerpoints but often has a lot of videos to demonstrate which I liked.ECON1291 2017-09-09 09:53:40 +0000 UTC
Jelena Nikolic is possibly the worst professor I have ever had. She gives students extreme attitude when they don't understand something the first time she explains something. She also has a great habit of showing up to class late, INCLUDING on the day of our Final exam. Would not reccomend to anyone to take her class.ECON1116 2015-12-21 14:01:04 +0000 UTC
