He's a great professor!! Even in summer it felt like it was easy to keep up and understand the material. Homework amount and grading is reasonable and good practice for the tests (which are on paper but open note/can use excel). Just a no. do'nt fall into the trap of thinking that this class is going to be easy just because his exams are online. They are online for a reason - he doesn't teach and I swear everyone would fail a final if it was in-person. I was very intimidated going into this class, but Professor Campasano is excellent at guiding you through complicated functions while still allowing you to learn by struggling a bit on the homeworks. You definitely get out what you put into this class. Lectures are optional but cover all of the projects in depth. The projects and one exam are low stress but I still learned a ton and used his projects as templates for other classes. You will learn NOTHING - He doesn't reply to emails and is unavailable outside of the class; literally wrote in the syllabus that his office hours are 1 hour a week by REQUEST. Tests are online, so everybody is FORCED to cheat. Super accomplished dude, knows what he's talking about, and overall chiller. I enjoyed his class and felt like I learned a lot. Drops the lowest hw assignment and will sometimes curve the exams if necessary. Jim is a great professor. He has weekly lectures where he goes over material. The exams are all open note, open book. Make an Excel for each exam and I promise you will do well (make Excel based on class & Accepi problems). Offers plenty of extra credit and bonuses for each exam as well. He won't answer your emails and is the most confusing person on this planet. Exams are impossible because he doesn't teach and the textbook is never used in the class. Despite going to every class and doing the assignments I have learned nothing. Do not take him. I absolutely recommend Professor Campasano! He's very knowledgeable, accommodating, and fair! He teaches plenty of useful Excel skills in his lectures. Do plenty of practice problems and you will do great on exams, which are very similar to the homework problems.
