Professor Kwoka is clearly very knowledgeable on monopolies and antitrust theory, however his teaching is sometimes confusing and material classes are not very well structured. He tries to adjust the level of difficulty throughout the semester but it can still get hard when it comes to applying calculus and mathematical theories. I took Industrial Economics with Professor Kwoka almost 5 years ago and to this day it has been a very useful class to have had. You will learn much about game theory and how it applies in business strategies. The worst econ class I've ever taken at NU. We have no chance of getting final grade. Faculty grade deadline for spring class is on Apr 28, but he posted 2 exams (include final exam) grade on May 2. Avoid Professor Kwoka unless you are genuinely extremely interested in the topic of the class and will put hours into the hundreds of readings he assigns to every class. Professor Kwoka is very knowledgeable and a nice person. However, he does not do a very good job of making his classes engaging. Bubbles, Busts, and Bailouts was one of the best classes I took at Northeastern. There was a decent amount of reading but I'm not sure why other reviews are complaining about that - I learned a lot about the topic, and his subject matter expertise shone through all semester. The Econ3462 class with Professor John Kwoka is one of the worst classes I have taken. He has an absurd amount of readings on top of reading packs which can translate to about 100 pages worth of readings before each class.
