This guy is my second favorite professor I've had at Northeastern and I don't even go to class. I think I've gone to class maybe 2 or 3 times outside of exam days. I only felt inclined to give this rating because I'll watch the lecture recordings and think wow this guy is actually really funny I almost wish I went to class. Marks is a top tier finance professor at Northeastern. His lectures are engaging and his tests (half-page cheat sheet) are really about making sure you understand the material rather than trying to confuse you. Prof Marks has a unique way of explaining difficult and hard to grasp concepts by giving unique examples and comparisons. This makes the learning experience very intuitive and helped me understand topics that I was already familiar with from a different angle. Marks is the best professor I have had at Northeastern. It's not that hard if you focus in class - it did not require any more time out of class than any other classes. Best professor i have ever taken in the MBA Program. He is a very kind, knowledgeable and logical professor to guide students through the course. It is very clear and easy to understand what he is teaching although this course includes many specialized finance knowledge. Prof. Marks is the BEST Finance Prof at NEU. He is so great at teaching especially when he can turn boring materials into fun lectures with insightful real life examples. His exams are med-difficult, which you would do well if you actually study. Lectures were interesting and engaging, he's great at explaining hard concepts. Exams are difficult, the study guides help but you must review all content to do well. Projects are manageable, but you will get screwed if your group has no idea what they're doing. Heavy curve at the end. If you're a senior busy with grad apps or job interviews and just want a manageable last semester, avoid this class at all cost. Professor Marks' classes are engaging and he explains concepts in a very intuitive way. He truly cares for the subject and his students and he's readily accessible for office hours as well.
