You can tell Dr. Webster is passionate about what she studies, but lectures were pretty disorganized and she rain over a fair amount. Exams weren't terribly difficult if you read the book and know the lecture slides. Quizzes had videos that had the answers in them, but exams were worth a lot more. Not bad overall but avoid if possible.BIOL1111 2023-01-20 22:04:45 +0000 UTC
Prof. Webster is amazing at teaching and is a very smart woman who always engages the whole class. Tests/ quizzes can be very difficult, but she gives many opportunities to boost your grade through projects and homework.BIOL2299 2022-11-29 19:19:32 +0000 UTC
Professor Webster is very knowledgeable about biology and she shows that during lectures. Although the presentations are very long she does her best to make them interesting. She grades on participation through poll questions, quizzes, and tests, so she gives you lots of opportunities to get you grade up/gives extra credit at the end of the year.BIOL1111 2022-11-17 20:21:04 +0000 UTC
Lectures were very unorganized and really content-heavy. It was very hard to follow the main idea of our discussions and very easy to get lost in her rambling. The information was very interesting it could've been better received if the class was more organized.BIOL2299 2022-04-27 21:16:34 +0000 UTC
I like her character, I mean she's a great person overall but the way she teaches the concepts is confusing. The information on the slides does not match was on the exam. The class wasn't just about biology, there was chemistry involved. If you want to join this class I would suggest peer tutoring.BIOL1111 2022-11-11 21:11:18 +0000 UTC
kind of disorganized. Doesn't post slides before hand and you never really know what you're going to be doing in class that day. Changed dates of quizzes and tests from what is on the syllabus. participation isn't officially graded but she expects it. also makes herself out to be super understanding but when u have a question she sometimes is rudeBIOL2299 2022-04-21 16:57:36 +0000 UTC
Overall her class was really not that bad and she was given less credit as a professor than she deserved. Just make sure to go to class, participate, go to office hours and (actually) study for both the quizzes and exams. She is a good professor and truly wants her students to succeed.BIOL1111 2022-05-11 00:16:52 +0000 UTC
She presents slides in class, but they are mostly diagrams and don't have info to study. She rambles a lot, which makes it hard to follow and take notes. Lots of the class is reading research papers, which she expects you to just understand. You ALWAYS have work due. She tries to come off as quirky, but I think that she can be very patronizing.BIOL2299 2022-04-06 20:19:54 +0000 UTC
I honestly thought Professor Webster herself was a good person and cared about her students, she makes jokes but only because she's trying to relate and it's her first year teaching. In terms of her class, I think it was not too hard if you read the textbook (actually) and went to lecture, she gives good extra credit and listens to feedback.BIOL1111 2022-04-27 23:19:21 +0000 UTC
I actually enjoyed this class, its not to bad if you really read the textbook and use the practice questions. She is very passionate about science and a very caring person who tries to inspire her students. She also gave us a lot of extra credit opportunities at the end of this semester.BIOL1111 2022-04-27 13:36:09 +0000 UTC
I found her class to be simple in the lectures, and detailed in the tests. Read the book and you'll do fine -- class isn't that hard but her first time teaching led to some confusion.BIOL1111 2022-04-26 19:44:22 +0000 UTC
Professor Webster clearly knows a lot about biology and is passionate, but this class is not taught like a regular General Biology 1 class, it is a lot harder. She is a nice person but can be a little passive-aggressive if you ask a question. The textbook is free but doesn't go in-depth enough for you to pass her quizzes, use outside resources.BIOL1111 2022-04-22 16:35:48 +0000 UTC
prof webster preaches that class is a safe space but she's pretty rude and condescending when people ask her questions. the snarky remarks she makes takes away from learning, and she thinks its funny, but you feel a little offended.BIOL1111 2022-04-21 18:36:50 +0000 UTC
Her lectures are just her reading off the slides. Basically every class has either been a lecture or exam. No homework, projects, or any other form of grading besides exams. Participation counts but barely makes a dent in your overall grade.BIOL1111 2022-04-20 18:02:34 +0000 UTC
makes weird comments in class e.g. if someone coughs or sneezes she'll tell them to be quiet as a 'joke' and she thinks its funny.BIOL1111 2022-04-19 20:48:35 +0000 UTC
