Had Zhang for Nucleic Acid Chemistry. Remarkably unhelpful lecture slides. They don't contain the information necessary to complete the homework, and some slides aren't a comprehensive summary of what he discusses in class. When all but one person in the class got a question wrong, he simply said "we should have read the question more carefully".CHEM2311 2022-10-12 23:30:16 +0000 UTC
i have never met a professor worse than zhang he does not care if students understands materials he just keeps going with his lectures (which are always confusing and sometimes have wrong info) His tests are insanely hard and he thinks its fine that the class averages C- or belowCHEM2314 2019-12-10 17:40:36 +0000 UTC
Professor Zhang is not a good professor. He speeds through lectures and explains concepts in convoluted ways. If you do not read the textbook and take notes from it you will not do well. I do not recommend you take his class unless you want to suffer. Organic Chemistry is not an easy course, but Professor Zhang unnecessarily makes it even harder.CHEM2311 2019-12-10 22:15:42 +0000 UTC
If you don't read the textbook before class, you might as well not show up because you won't understand a word her says. Course is graded on 4 tests (including the final) and online homework assignments.CHEM2311 2019-12-03 20:52:47 +0000 UTC
Zhang does a decent job teaching the material and concepts, but he is sometimes timid and jumps around. There is not much homework, but it is a good idea to do textbook problems for practice. Exams are pretty straightforward and easy. It isn't that necessary to go to lectures because all of the material is in the powerpoints he posts.CHEM2311 2016-04-07 17:15:56 +0000 UTC
He's incredibly confusing and his lectures are scattered and unintelligible. I learn nothing from going to class and have to rely on the book and online videos. He talks very fast and quiet and doesn't give clear answers to questions. You have to teach yourself everything because he is not much help. Orgo is hard enough and he makes it even harder.CHEM2311 2016-02-10 12:45:32 +0000 UTC
