Prof Danahy was one of the best professors I have ever had. You can tell that she loves her job and LOVES orgo. Her final is NOT easy like everyone says it is, my final was incredibly difficult and lowkey had things that we never learned. Her test questions test how well you can apply the material, not how much you studied. Love her tho.2311 2025-04-27 20:45:45 +0000 UTC
Top tier professor. Eats sleeps and breathes chemistry. Clearly loves what she is doing and does a great job at doing it. Probably the best OChem professor at Northeastern. Teaches some niche topics that other classes don't go as deeply into but it's alright. Study hard and don't save anything until the last minute.2311 2025-04-23 15:52:15 +0000 UTC
Danahy was great. Here's what you need to know: She does three midterms and a final. They get progressively harder, but the cumulative final was very surface level and surprisingly easy. You must go to class. Poll Ev participation everyday. Do the puzzle sets, they come up almost 1:1 on the exams. Ask questions. I didn't read the textbook once.2311 2024-12-05 07:18:31 +0000 UTC
Professor Danahy did an alright job in explaining the concepts, but the grading was pretty harsh. I am not at all Organic Chemistry included though, and maybe others had a different experience. She was very patient in office hours, and I do feel I learned a lot in this class (just not enough for an A)2311 2023-11-28 20:33:07 +0000 UTC
Really liked her teaching method a lot! She helps you visualize the material and the lectures are really clear and easy to understand if you keep up. The puzzle sets prepare you for tests and are graded on completion. The tests are all open response, opportunity for partial credit. She is always willing to answer any questions and super sweet.2311 2023-05-01 04:10:32 +0000 UTC
The class was test-heavy; homework assignments (puzzle sets) and Poll Everywhere did little to bring grade up. Puzzle sets got more challenging as the semester progressed (graded on completion and effort). Professor Danahy was a nice professor; just wished she was more lenient/understanding (no curves or extra credit); harsh test grader as well.2311 2023-04-30 16:12:56 +0000 UTC
Danahy is very kind and is willing to help you out. The only way to be successful is studying a lot, going to peer tutoring, and office hours. Puzzle sets are helpful to get a baseline understanding but are not harder than exams - as she claims. Sometimes she overcomplicates content, going to peer tutoring makes concepts easier. Overall, okay.2311 2023-04-17 16:55:57 +0000 UTC
professor danahy is super kind and a very cool person. however, her lectures were often very confusing and the homework was difficult. all of her test are fully open-ended, but she gives a lot of partial credit. she is very accessible and gives a lot of extra resources to practice. she also has a redemption policy. many good things, but hard class.2311 2022-12-09 03:14:17 +0000 UTC
She is a very nice person. However, she is very difficult. lectures are hand-written and somewhat fine to understand if you go to class, but if you don't you are screwed. EVERYTHING IS OPEN ENDED. Memorizing will only fail you! she says she is considerate but i would have to disagree. There is also no extra-credit or other things to help. TEST HEAVY2311 2022-11-30 20:55:44 +0000 UTC
