I personally thought he was a great professor. He taught throw lecture slides that you would fill in as you went through the material. He emphasized patterns that have helped me through Orgo 2. Dr. Aparece is by far one of the best teachers I've had in my life. His lectures helped me learn a lot, and he repeated certain key words and color coded his notes to really reinforce our learning. Prof. Aparece was great. I had him for orgo 2 and he did a really good job at making lectures understandable and relevant. He gives his students all the tools they need to succeed and was very willing to work with students outside of class and offer additional help and practice problems. Also just a great dude. Very inspirational and caring Professor. Orgo 2 is already hard enough but he makes it interesting and accommodates all the students. Pick another professor if you can. The homework is very difficult and doesn't help you on the tests. His lectures don't even help at all, they are all so boring and don't even help you learn. Super accessible outside of class. 3-6 office hours/ week where he practically gives away test answers. People worry that his tests are open response, DONT! He is super liberal w/ partial credit, if you answer everything youll get a good grade. Hes consistent and fair, not tryna trick you. Professor Aparece is a great chemistry instructor and is always accessible for office hours. If you show up to class, follow along with the slides, and go to office hours to do work if you're confused, it's not hard to get an A. Prof Aparece was thorough and very passionate about Orgo Chem. He works hard to try and explain concepts to students and assist them in understanding them. Dr. Aparece was a great teacher for General Chemistry at Northeastern. Although his 100 minute lectures can drag on, his tests are very fairmostly multiple choice and a couple short answers. Aparece is by far the best professor I've had in the science department. He is so knowledgable, funny, and personable. He has a lot of office hours throughout the week where you can meet other students in the class and do practice problems. Although I barely got an A in orgo 1, I felt like I didn't really KNOW the material. In Orgo 2, Professor Aparece helped me really understand the concepts in organic chemistry, allowing me to solve the problems rather than just memorize reactions. Aparece is a great professor. He's so nice and it's easy to reach him with questions outside of class. The material is tough and his exams are all open-ended, but he gives you as much partial credit as possible. I struggled with orgo, but it's nice to have a professor who wants you to succeed. His exams are free-response, which I think is helpful because he gives partial credit. He emphasizes understanding and not just memorizing but getting an A is not hard if you pay attention.
