Honestly, Professor Konan is a really fun and genuine guy. Lectures are mandatory and can get boring sometimes, but the tests are online and he gives tons of opportunities to make up your grade with make-up tests and extra credit. He's super understanding, actually cares about the class, and is overall an absolute chiller.ECON2316 2025-12-16 19:41:27 +0000 UTC
Not the worst prof/class. Exams are online which is fire, homeworks are annoying but not too much. Martin is a weird fellow but kinda funny at the same time. If you get him off topic it's a great timeECON2315 2025-11-21 23:39:50 +0000 UTC
Professor Konan is my favorite professor at Northeastern. It's not that hard to be a good student in his class. As long as you show up to class, he is not only entertaining, but makes learning fun. I really loved his class.ECON2350 2025-01-17 04:48:32 +0000 UTC
Martin's lectures are fun and his exams are online asynchronous which is nice, but he never releases grades until like a month later, and goes so fast. Also goes off the textbook and no lecture notes are posted so if you skip class you will fall so far behind.ECON3442 2023-12-13 20:58:15 +0000 UTC
Martin Konan is the worst teacher I ever had during my MBA. He does not care, he is in class simply for the paycheck. Runs thru materials without a single example, can't understand a word he says so get ready to help yourself by yourself. This teacher missed a few classes, he bragged about being traveling overseas during those classes.ECON3481 2023-05-02 17:39:24 +0000 UTC
Professor Konan is the worst professor I have ever had. His lecture notes are confusing and if you ask him questions he gets frustrated. He ignored both "care days" we had this semester and held class even though he was reminded of them by students. He is a harsh grader and very boring lecturer. Avoid him as a professor if you can.ECON1116 2021-04-14 15:59:58 +0000 UTC
Prof Konan's lectures are a mess. He is disorganized and gets lost and goes on tangents easily and often. He tries to teach and cover upper level econ theory in a couple weeks when the class has no prereqs. Unless you have a solid micro and macro theory background you will be lost. He grades based on how much he likes students and is way too harshECON1230 2018-05-02 17:36:17 +0000 UTC
Not to glaze Prof. Konan but don't listen to the horrible reviews! It's extremely easy to do well in his class– it's basically impossible to get lower than a B+ (if you're not dumb). The tests are easy and he offers make-ups. He's a strange and funny guy who seems to enjoy teaching. The only con was that his classes are often lecture heavy.ECON2316 2025-04-01 14:33:22 +0000 UTC
Just a chill guyECON2315 2025-11-19 04:06:06 +0000 UTC
Genuinely one of the worst classes/professors I've had. Attendance is mandatory; he will fail to mention many busywork/random "In class assignments" before class ends. These assignments don't take up much time WHEN YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM. The tests aren't terrible, but if you can, AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. Worst class I've taken.ECON2350 2024-12-09 05:56:27 +0000 UTC
He grades students based on how much he likes them, lectures for hours by reading directly from the book. You would be better buying the book and doing the work on your own, Do not waste your money taking this course, or any other, with Martin Konan. He is stubborn, and autocratic.ECON3442 2022-12-14 13:44:57 +0000 UTC
The class (Econ of Sports) was enjoyable. I find that Prof. Konan is a nice guy, offering helpful review sessions and makeup exams. However, he does make you buy Top Hat, he goes over time in most classes, and he is poor at responding to emails. Overall he is a decent choice if you like the class being taught. Be sure to do notes on the textbook.ECON3481 2021-05-18 20:24:05 +0000 UTC
Probably biggest waste of time ever. His lectures are mandatory and useless. You can only take certain homework if you arrived to class. Attendance is a part of your grade.ECON2316 2025-03-14 12:45:19 +0000 UTC
if you love and are passionate for economics take Mr Konan. He knows his stuff, explains concepts intuitively and doesn't overcomplicate simple concepts. theres a bit of work and homework but it gives you an extremely solid understanding of the coursework. very funny guy too. if you like econ or basketball youll like himECON2315 2025-09-25 16:02:22 +0000 UTC
honestly didn't pay much attention in class but im sure of you put in the effort you can do well. midterm and one other exam was take home with 4 cheat sheets, but are proctored by camera and microphone recording. attendance is mandatory and you cant do some of the homeworks if you didnt go to class he checks. just take notes and youll be fineECON2350 2024-11-22 17:31:21 +0000 UTC
